Hi fissure can be painful and troublesome .it can lead to bleeding. please consult a surgeon who after examination would confirm the diagnosis and advice further treatment of fissure. Conservative measures like taking laxatives ,taking certain medications either allopathic or Ayurvedic and eating high-fibre diet will relieve your problem temporarily .you can use these measures to get imediate relief. Definitely treatment for fissure is surgical management. Laser treatment for fissure is definite treatment .it is a 10 minute painless procedure, no dressing is required post surgery. Post surgery you will be on proper diet chart and certain pelvic floor exercises will be taught to you which will help you avoid constipation in long run . We at Gurgoan to laser treatment of fissure very frequently .you can contact through Lybrate for further details.

I am a 23 year old male. I go to gym 5 days a week and I am a vegetarian. For the adequate amount of protein in my diet, I drink 2.5 liters of pasteurized milk during the whole day and I have been following this schedule for over an year now. However, I wanted to know if drinking so much amount of milk could have adverse effects on my health? Like causing kidney stone? Please suggest. I drink 2-2.5 liters of water a day and consume 3 meals a day.

Drinking so much milk will not affect you in anyway as long as you drink a lot of water. Only problem is that milk has been found to be a causative agent for diabetes. So if you have a family history of diabetes then try to reduce the quantity and be on the safer side. Also milk has high fat content. As long as you exercise a lot and burn up the fat it will not be a problem but if you have a sedentary lifestyle then it may cause cardiac problems. Other than that no problem. The kidney stone even if it forms will be washed out out of the system as long as you drink a lot of water and pass adequate amount of water.

After hemoglobin becomes normal, he may go for surgery. Hemoglobin level may be improved with iron capsule or injection of iron or blood transfusion. Surgery should not be delayed as it may lead to urinary tract infection and kidney problems.

Urinary Tract Infection - 5 Ways You Can Prevent it

DNB (Nephrology), MBBS -1992 & MD - Medicine
Nephrologist, Gurgaon
Urinary Tract Infection - 5 Ways You Can Prevent it

The structure responsible for production, transportation, storage and excretion of urine form the urinary tract. Kidney, ureters, bladder and urethra are structures involved in urine formation and excretion process. Kidney filters nearly 3 ounces of blood, removes waste materials every minute. When these get infected with entry of any micro organism or any other pathological condition, then the person gets urinary tract infection (UTI).

Causes and symptoms
Urinary tract infections are more common in women than men because of the small size of the urethra (4cms) and also because of the squatting position of voiding. Entry of organisms like bacteria, viruses and fungi are the major cause of UTI. The person may experience burning sensation and pain when voiding, fever is indicated when the infection has reached the kidneys or prostate glands in male. Other symptoms include pain in back, ribs, nausea and vomiting.

Preventive measures
Though antibiotics are used to treat the present infection there are increased chance of getting the recurrent infection. So it is best advised to follow the preventive measures to stay away safely from getting infected

  1. Drink plenty of water nearly 2- 3litres of water per day and urinate when you feel the need , don’t control or resist voiding when you feel the urge as this may give room for the organisms to grow well
  2. Urinate after sexual intercourse. change the birth control measures if UTI is a recurrent problem
  3. Wash front to back, wipe off thoroughly after emptying the bladder so as to prevent the entry of organisms into the urethra.
  4. Avoid wearing tight fitting clothes. Always prefer cotton inner garments and loose fitting clothes so that air entry keeps the area moist and free from bacteria.
  5. Cranberry juice works best and it is the natural treatment for bladder infections. Cranberries have a special substance that can avoid the entry of E.coli into the bladder, but it does not have much effect on recurrent UTI infections. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

The problems termed a Spermatorrhoea and in most of the cases at your age the history is excessive masturbation or sexual indulgence Myself is a homoeopath and there are very good and effective medicines which can cure your permanently and yes, along with mediciness, kegels exercise is a must To get started •Find the right muscles. To identify your pelvic floor muscles, stop urination in midstream or tighten the muscles that keep you from passing gas. These maneuvers use your pelvic floor muscles. Once you've identified your pelvic floor muscles, you can do the exercises in any position, although you might find it easiest to do them lying down at first. •Perfect your technique. Tighten your pelvic floor muscles, hold the contraction for three seconds, and then relax for three seconds. Try it a few times in a row. When your muscles get stronger, try doing Kegel exercises while sitting, standing or walking. •Maintain your focus. For best results, focus on tightening only your pelvic floor muscles. Be careful not to flex the muscles in your abdomen, thighs or buttocks. Avoid holding your breath. Instead, breathe freely during the exercises. •Repeat 3 times a day. Aim for at least three sets of 10 repetitions a day. Don't make a habit of using Kegel exercises to start and stop your urine stream as this could cause a bladder infection

My son 13 years old. His problem is pass the urine at sleeping time. Kindly suggest me best solution.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS
Urologist, Ahmedabad
Dear , this is a common problem in children of both sexes. It could be that he has some defect in lumber spine like spina bifida or some adhesions. In majority of cases no organic defect is found either in vertebral column or spinal cord. In most cases there is psychological problem or faulty habit. To decide what it is one wants to know about history like 1 did he have any dry nights at any stage of his life or from early childhood bedwetting continued? 2. When did it start? 3. Did it start after the birth of second child? 4. Is someone in the home is hard task master or strict displetarian? 5. Is his teacher rather harsh on him? 6. Does he have any close relationship with anyone in the family? in short this a sort of cry for help or attention seeking. So parents will have deal with tactfully and softly 1. Be soft and gentle with him 2. When you come home from work firstly inquire about him and talk to him about how his day passed. 3. When he comes home from school take notice of him and talk to him 4. At night ask him to pass urine before he goes to bed. 5 find out roughly the time when he wets the bed and arrange for an alarm take to toilet to pass urine. This is the best and simplest way of getting his brain to wake up and pass urine in toilet and not in bed. 6. Do not give him milk or any drink at bedtime. 7. Ask him to make resolution at bedtime not to pass urine in bed. 8. If he has problem at school with boys or teacher sort it out quietly. If somebody is harsh on him ask them to be soft on him 8. After all of these measure, if nothing works continue the same and add tab. Imipramine hydrochloride (impranil or depsonil) 25mg. One hour before his bedtime. If bedwetting happens in the daytime sleep as well then give it three times a day for at least 3 months and stop the medications to see whether he remains dry. If not then continue for 3 more months.
