I'm 26 years old male, and I have migraine problem since last 8 years, could you please suggest the solution to get rid of this?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Self-care measures can help ease the pain of a migraine headache. Try muscle relaxation exercises. Relaxation techniques may include progressive muscle relaxation, meditation or yoga. Get enough sleep, but don't oversleep. Get an adequate amount of sleep each night. It's best to go to bed and wake up at regular times, as well. If possible, rest in a dark, quiet room when you feel a headache coming on. Place an ice pack wrapped in a cloth on the back of your neck and apply gentle pressure to painful areas on your scalp. Medication: Take Bakson's Mig Aid tablet/ 1 tablet 3 times a day.

I am from Mumbai .I'm suffering from migraine since last 2 or 3 months .Dr. Please Can you make me sure that what is the treatment for this?

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Nagpur
Migraine is a kind of relapsing headache. Its symptoms include - episodic unilateral or bilateral, severe and pulsating headaches, associated at times with nausea and vomiting, relieved momentarily on rest or taking medications and aggravated by precipitating factors. The treatment of migraine is mainly done for relief from acute headache attacks and later treatments to prevent future relapses. Also treatment of factors which tend to cause relapses is also important. Consult a headache specialist for a composite and complete treatment. You may contact me online for further queries and assistance in treatment in this regard.

Paralysis occurs due to some problem in brain like blood clot/hemorrhage in a supplying artery of brain. Apparently it happened in your case due to some type brain insult. It will take many years to recover from this illness. You must have recovered a little till the time. You should try doing something with the help of other hand. Ideally you should regularly go to a physiotherapy center for exercise. Gradually you will be able to do many things and can also walk. I wish you all the best.

Hi doc, I am a medical student. I have minute tremors which mostly get aroused during conditions like handling an object, or when I get scared or when I don't eat. My thyroid pro. Done b4 6-8 months were normal. I have this prob since last 4-5 years. What to do?

LCPS, BAM&S
General Physician, Pune
CML is a rare condition and you are fighting it. The medications are perfect and you should be able to lead normal life soon. So continue your treatment with a positive mindset. You will be alright soon. The real cause of tremors is just nervousness coming out of the battle. You are a brave young man. Toss all these jittery thoughts into air by the flick of mind and pursue your education with a focus. You will be a great doctor one day. Don't pat any attention to tremors. They will vanish the moment you neglect them.

My mother is suffering from disease of fits. She has this disease from childhood. Does this disease has any cure?

Epilepsy does has treatment. It may take some time. Also the thing to note that since the disease have a very long history in your mother - if complete omission of the disease is virtually not possible the delay in the fits episode may be a huge success. We can definitely improve the quality of life of your mother better to an extent. Start avle ka murabba in your diet.

I have 19 years old and I am suffering from migraine since 2 years. What I do sir?

MBBS, MD - Consultant Physician
General Physician, Ghaziabad
Welcome to lybrate. We are here to help you. You seem to be having migraine headache. Migraine headaches are usually unilateral, associated with throbbing, vomiting sensations, photophobia and phonophobia. A clinical examination specially neurological examination, fundus examination are must to rule out any other neurological problem which might also require neuroimaging. You should see your doctor. He will classify the headache and if it is migranous, treatment would be with the drugs like flunarizine, propanolol, amitryptilline. I hope it helps. Stay healthy.

Your complaints sound like you are having mild with pseudo dementia. But still, get your thyroid status checked again. Do serum free t3, free t4 and tsh levels. If they are not normal you might need to increase your thyroid medications. If your thyroids are normal then consult me for treatment of depression. Take care.

1. Sleep well and regular. Irregular sleep can have some serious consequences. It affects both our physical health and also contributes to anxiety and stress. Anxiety as such also leads to disruptions in sleep. When feeling anxious, always try to get a full 7 to 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep and it can work wonders to improve your condition. 2. Always keep smiling. Take a quick break in between your hectic work to get some laughs with your friends. Laughter can reduce depression and anxiety and has proven benefits. 3. Tidy up your living space or workspace. Keep your things clean and clutter-free. That helps us think clear and thus reducing levels of anxiety. 4. Say thank you often. Expressing your thanks for something helps reduce anxiety. 5. Eat smart. Eating more of foods which are rich in vitamin B and omega-3 fatty acids and also healthy whole grain carbs. Vitamin B contributes to good mental health. While omega 3 fatty acids help with both depression and anxiety. Whole grain foods boost serotonin and helps us remain poised. Eating high-sugar content food and processed foods can increase levels of anxiety. 6. Learn to breathe well and relax. Short, shallow breaths arise when you are tensed. So consciously breathing deeply, plus increasing the duration and depth of breathing helps relax the body and mind to a great extent. 7. Meditate. Meditation has so many positive effects on stress, mood, and anxiety. Club meditation with positive thinking to improve your general well-being and overall health. Yoga is also very effective to take off stress from the body and mind by deep relaxation and breathing techniques. 8. Chill and be silent. Reduce the noise and clutter talk that contributes to anxiety. Find time for yourself and be alone to muse upon your own matters without anyone disturbing you. 9. Worry. Yes, we can cause ourselves to freak out, but only for a certain amount of time. When something weighs heavily on your mind, or you believe something terrible is most definitely going to occur, commit to only creating that worry for 20 minutes. Think of all the possible outcomes of the scenario, figure out some game plans, and then quit thinking about it after 20 minutes go by. Have a friend call after the allotted time has passed to avoid the temptation of going over the time limit. Or schedule some of that playtime right afterward. 10. Plan for the future but do not worry about it. Make time tables and to-do lists so that you will not be worried about finishing stuff and so that you can increase your productivity. 11. Be positive. When you feel anxious, train your mind to think and feel positive and give reinforcement to yourself that you can handle any situation. This will significantly reduce your stress and anxiety symptoms. 12. Smell relaxing stuff. Go out to your garden. Smell a fresh rose. Take a deep breathe and allow the relaxation to course through your whole body. You can also use relaxing aroma therapy and use it indoors. 13. Go out and spend time with your friends and family. Spend time with your pets Social support reduces anxiety and stress to such a great extent that it is almost always bearable. So next time you get on your nerves, go out with your friends, chat with them, watch a movie, spend some time watching the waves in the beach with your partner, talk to your siblings. If you have tried all these and still have problems, please consult me for prescription medication.
