I have a asthma. How to recover from asthma. And I am very weak. And. So many times I was affected bye fever and cold.

DNB(Respiratory Diseases), MBBS
Pulmonologist, Jabalpur
Asthma can be controlled by regular use of inhaler medicines which usually contain bronchodilators and corticosetriods. Few cases in which symptoms may not be easily controlled may be difficult to treat asthma that may require an expert asthma specialist consultation. For recovering from weakness you should take a balanced diet, plenty of fruits and vegetables, milk and milk products etc. It is believed that, use of vitamin c may help in improving immunity.

I am in the second year of degree college and my concern is that I have no friends in college. Like literally no friends, also I have some social anxiety. When I see people around me, I don't find things to talk and I think that I just don't fit in, sometimes I do talk to random people but I don't end up becoming friends. What is the issue? Is it that I don't fit in? There are some people that I want to talk to but I don't like to seem desperate so I don't make the move. This is becoming a huge problem as I fear that I will not get a guy because no guy talks to me. I feel that I just don't know how to socialize and don't know to communicate may be because I am not fun or my face is ugly or I am not audible at times. Should I change myself. And the bigger problem is now that people know me as an introvert they would rather not talk to me at all. I am not friends with anyone in the college and I am a total loner. What should I do? My college life has become an hell.

Those people who suffer from a rejection issue find themselves in this predicament. Find out why these people are neglecting you. Are you doing something to cause this? There must be a way you behave or present yourself that they are choosing to neglect you. Once you have identified that, change that behavior in you. Before you do so ask yourself, do you love yourself first of all? I suspect that there may be a problem of self-acceptance and self-love. If you don’t love yourself, then you may depend on others too much for the love you need. Inevitably, they will reject you or at least neglect you. You could be suffering from the rejection issue from which all these outcomes will be activated. This is how social priorities are normally set: first you love god, then yourself sufficiently, and then others. If you are full of appropriate love, you will attract others’ love by default. As easy as that!!! The identity crisis is typical of someone who is dependent on others for acknowledgement and tends to identify with other personalities. You probably suffer from low self-esteem. But far worse than that is my fear that you may have some serious rejection issues. The fear of acceptance may then trigger a performance-oriented individual who will depend entirely on other people’s opinion and assessment of himself. This will make you even more vulnerable and susceptible to rejection, and you may hurt very badly and easily at the slightest sign of rejection. There is a way about this, but meet with a counselor and see what can be worked out to learn to accept yourself first. If you did this you will naturally perform well and will not depend on others, entirely, for their acceptance. If you know of any reason to believe that this rejection is true from your childhood it would help tremendously. Talk to your parents and find out what they remember or you could take them with you to meet with the counselor. If you learn to accept yourself first then the identity may be formed, but the best way to develop an identity is to know your emotions and how to express them. Your feelings are a very good indicator of who you are. A counselor will help you do this well. You already sound like someone who has a poor self-image. This itself can push people away inadvertently. This can be resolved with some work with a counselor.

All About Orgasmic Dysfunction

MD - Medicine, Member of the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health (UK) (MRSH)
Sexologist, Delhi
All About Orgasmic Dysfunction

A healthy mind is responsible for a healthy and relaxed body and both are imperative for attaining better orgasms during intercourse. Orgasmic dysfunction, or inhibited sexual excitement, or simply anorgasmia, is a condition whereby, a woman fails to attain orgasms even when sexually aroused. This can prove to be a major sexual problem and is the cause of disputes and conflicts in a relationship because of the lack of sexual intimacy and satisfaction.

In order to be sexually excited, both mind and body are involved in a series of complex processes, which finally result in a peak sexual response. Thus, both need to be functioning well in order to stimulate an orgasm.

Causes that may lead to orgasmic dysfunction:

  1. Boredom or lack of interest in sexual indulgences
  2. Hormonal disorders or changes brought on by menopause
  3. Chronic illnesses that affect sexual interest
  4. Acquired negative attitudes (usually from childhood or adolescence) towards sex
  5. Previous traumatic experiences relating to rape or sexual abuse
  6. Certain prescription drugs like antidepressants
  7. Stress or high fatigue
  8. Medical conditions affecting the nervous system around the pelvis
  9. Medical conditions causing chronic pelvic pain

Symptoms of organic dysfunction may include:

  1. Inability to attain orgasms
  2. Taking longer than normal to reach an orgasm
  3. Not having satisfying orgasms

Treatment

It is important to note that when treating problems associated with orgasmic dysfunction, you must maintain a healthy attitude towards sex, in addition to having sufficient knowledge pertaining to sexual stimulations and responses. Learning how to communicate and how to express your needs and desires clearly is another important step in the treatment of anorgasmia. Here are a few other ways to improve your sex life:

  1. Eat well and get enough rest
  2. Reduce your consumption of alcohol, drugs, or smoking
  3. Engage in Kegel exercises which involve tightening and relaxing the muscles of the pelvis
  4. Use birth control methods that both you and your partner agree to
  5. Engage in other sexual activities apart from sexual intercourse
  6. Educate yourself more about reaching orgasms by focusing on clitoral stimulation or directed masturbation
  7. Take up sexual counseling to learn helpful exercises

6 Mistakes Most Women Make That Affect Their Breast Health

MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS

6 Mistakes Most Women Make That Affect Their Breast Health

6 common mistakes most women make that endanger their breast health

Good breast health is very necessary for a woman to avoid the risks of getting breast diseases, most particularly breast cancer. But there are some common mistakes most women make without knowing that they contribute to the threats of breast diseases. Read on to know which common habits may be bad for your breast health and what lifestyle alterations you can make to avoid them.

1. Not taking requisite care of your breasts with increasing age

The chances of developing diseases like breast cancer increase with age, especially as you enter the 40s and 50s. Most women don't consider their chronological age with requisite seriousness and this can expose them to higher risks of breast diseases. As you hit 40, you should sincerely make it a habit to get regular clinical exams to maintain proper breast health.

2. Not considering an annual mammogram

An x-ray of the breasts is known as a mammogram which is usually performed to detect premature symptoms of breast cancer. Studies reveal that a large number of women do not consider getting an annual mammogram done even after the age of 40. Experts are of the opinion that this can be threatening to your breast health as a delay of even a few months can result in developed and undetected breast cancer symptoms. So, it is recommended that after entering your 40s get a mammogram done after every year.

3. Not keeping track of your weight

According to researchers, women who have bmi (body mass index) more than 25 are considered obese and have greater chances of developing breast diseases in comparison to women having a balanced weight. The risk rises due to increase in the formation of oestrogen caused by the greater number of fat cells. Increased level of oestrogen is responsible for the growth of 'hormone-receptor-positive' type of breast cancer. You should try to eat healthy and regularly monitor your weight to avoid obesity.

4. Avoiding exercise

Avoiding exercise can have adverse effects on your breast health. Studies prove that women who exercise for about 4 to 7 hours every week have lower chances of developing breast diseases. This is due to the fact that regular workout ensures limited blood levels of the hormone 'insulin growth factor' which significantly influences the growth and behaviour of breast cells. So, start exercising from today to stay fit and maintain proper breast health.

5. Drinking too much alcohol

Regular consumption of alcohol increases risks of breast cancer as it causes damage to the DNA in cells. Moreover, it raises levels of oestrogen and other hormones responsible for triggering 'hormone-receptor-positive' breast cancer. You can avoid this risk by keeping your alcohol consumption to moderate levels and reserved for special occasions.

6. Exposing yourself to too many chemicals in the form of cosmetics

Most women use too many cosmetic products containing certain chemicals that increase their chances of developing breast diseases. This happens because often these chemicals tend to disturb the hormonal balance of the body by mimicking or blocking certain hormones.
