Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Hello, bad breath could be because of deposits on teeth surface or food lodged in between teeth. Visit a dentist and get your scaling and polishing done. Brush your teeth twice daily, night brushing is very important. Floss regularly. Rinse after every meal. Visit dentist every 6 months.

I don't feel hungry at all and even feel lazy to eat anything. I skip meals on regular basis. I even tried eating tonics to increase my hunger but it only effect me for 1 or 2 days and than it also stop working. Honestly, I'm not so regular in eating medicines or tonics. Now I'm 19 and slowly all my body parts are getting weaken. Like my eyes they recently got specs of about -0.5 and my teeth started aching due to lack of calcium. In short, all the energy which my body has saved is now vanished resulting me in a poor health condition. N even though I know the reason, I can't tackle it. For me eating food is like the biggest responsibility. Need help please and I look very thin.Please tell.

There are 4 pillar for good health. First is healthy nutritious diet- include all colors in your diet. Second is exercise. Do some sort of physical exercise at least 20-30 min daily. It could be walking, cycling, jogging, swimming, skipping, yoga etc. Third is adequate rest. Sleeping as per urr individual requirement which may be 6-10 hours a day. Meditation provide excellent relaxation and many other benefits. Fourth is a positive mental attitude. A positive expectancy and outlook towards life. All the best. Work on all four and I am sure you will regain your appetite.

The smile is the first thing we notice about a person, and more than anything else, it reveals the teeth first. We all yearn for that set of perfectly aligned teeth that are pearly white in color. However, this is not a reality in all people.

Due to various reasons, the teeth are not always bright and white. In some cases, the high fluoride content in the water can lead to fluorosis, which causes irregular patches on the teeth. Chewing tobacco and smoking are another reason for teeth discoloration, ranging from yellow to brown to black. The most inevitable of all reasons is ageing, where they naturally change to a darker shade of yellow. However, dental technology has also improved to come up with various solutions, so that the dream for that set of pearly whites can be made a reality.

Bleaching is by far the most commonly used method for teeth whitening. The tooth has an outer layer called enamel, a next layer called dentin, and a final inner layer called the pulp. The enamel contains organic particles that give the tooth its color, and the bleach material attacks these organic particles and thereby removes the stains.

It is always advisable to use tooth bleaching under the supervision of a dentist. A thorough examination and diagnosis is required before deciding on one of the two modes of bleaching.

  1. In-office bleaching: This involves use of whitening gels that are not available over the counter. The gel is applied on the discolored portions of the teeth to leave a whiter tooth behind after the stipulated time.
  2. Home bleaching: In cases where more regular application is desired, the patient is given a kit which has customized trays and the whitening gel. The patient is educated on a schedule including how and when to apply the gel and instructions for this application.

In addition, for minor discolorations, there are other options as below:

  1. Whitening strips: These strips are similar to adhesive bandage and contain the bleaching agent. They are applied onto the tooth and left for usually about 30 minutes to take effect.
  2. Brush-on whitening: These gels are applied directly on the tooth and left for a while or overnight if required.
  3. Whitening chewing gum: For the chewing gum lovers, this could be an option. These chewing gums are similar to any chewing gum but include bleaching agents.

Side effects: Sensitivity and gum irritation are the two common side effects of bleaching. This could be either from the chemical or the trays that are used. The need to repeat the treatment again is another shortcoming. Repeated visits to the dentist may be needed once or twice a year to maintain the pearly white smile!

It is important to know about the reason because of which you have gone through flap surgery. If the flap surgery resolved the primary cause then there is nothing to worry about. In crown lengthening procedure flap surgery is done to make the gum recessed. If the infection occured after surgery is the cause of the recession then you should visit the same doctor again.

Bad breath is due to accumulation of plaque on teeth, decay teeth, dry mouth, smoking, tobacco chewing, consumption of caffeinated or aerated beverages, oilly n spicy food, sore throat, bad digestion. Go for scaling and polishing of teeth. Use mouthwash twice daily after brushing. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Increase your water intake.

 Rinse or chew gum after meals. In addition to brushing and flossing, rinsing your mouth with an antibacterial rinse can help prevent decay and gum problems. Chewing sugar-free gum after a meal can also protect by increasing saliva flow, which naturally washes bacteria away and neutralizes acid.

Yellow scars recently gained, most likely bcos of improper brushing, excessive intake of tea or tooth coloring materials or foods. So, lessen them if so. Tooth cleaning is the one you can even go in for bleaching of tooth. At home you can even try tooth whitening gels as per instructions.

Ritu you are having bad breath in mouth . you may be having poor digestion /poor oral hygiene . you need to improve your digestion . take cap becosule with folic acid . visit dental surgeon for scaling and polishing .drink plenty of water . eat more of fruits and vegetables rinse with clohex mouthwash .

U have to quit the habit see there is nothing impossible for a human being, you're at very young age. There is chewing gum in market, you can get them in medical store called nulife. Bleeding gums and sensitive of teeth are due to your habit.

Hi alisha, have you done scaling (cleaning) procedure before. If not please do it immediately. Calculus present on the tooth surface is the main reason for bad smell. Still the problem persists, please consult a gastero enterologist to rule out any digestion problems.

Apply shy xt tooth paste twice daily on all the teeth surface using finger tip. After application wait for 3 minutes and rinse / brush thoroughly. If the problem persist after two weeks you might have to get the radiograph done.

If you want a healthy set of teeth, you must follow healthy lifestyle habits. There are certain habits that you need to follow strictly in order to keep your teeth healthy. Not maintaining proper oral hygiene puts you are at an increased risk of various oral diseases.

The lifestyle habits to maintain healthy teeth are:

  1. Brush regularly: Brush your teeth at least twice a day or if possible, after every major meal. Use a toothbrush with soft bristles so that you don't injure your gums.
  2. Flossing: Develop the habit of flossing your teeth on a daily basis, as flossing helps in removing food particles and other foreign substances stuck within the teeth cavity. It also does not allow plaque to accumulate in between your teeth.

  6. Avoid smoking: If you are a smoker, then it is time that you quit. Smoking increases the risk of oral cancer and stains the teeth as well. You may also be prone to gum disease if you cannot ditch that cigarette now.
  7. Diet: Avoid eating junk foods as they are not good for your overall health. Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits as they contain vitamins and minerals that keep your teeth healthy.
  8. Reduce stress: Excessive stress levels can contribute to various periodontal diseases. Practice relaxation techniques such as meditation to keep your stress levels under control.

I had my first sitting of root canal treatment on my wisdom tooth as it was not properly emerged and got infected. The removal was a small OT and I was hesitant of that. The first sitting was a bit painful at times. Can RCT be painful? The doctor told me that the abcess was deep and that caused pain.

Hi lybrate-user RCt is not painful as they put local anaesthesis and then you can not feel the pain. But when the sitting is done and the effect of anaesthesia is over then you can feel slight pain as the nerves are being operated so the dentist prescribes you painkillers for that time. So all in all no pain in the procedure. And do not take abscess or RCT lightly and should be done on time! Takecare.
