Miss lybrate-user, there are lots of homoeopathic products for skin. Which are safe to apply. Chemical peels are definitely a choice but it would not be best in every case. After all these are chemicals.

Hi, take homoeopathic medicine - schwabe's damiaplant/ thrice daily for 4 weeks. Management: regular exercising keeps you fit and healthy, so don't forget to do it. Practice pranayam regularly for half an hour preferably in a garden early in the morning. Not to do these exercises within 4 hours after meals. One can have meals not within 15 minutes after finishing these exercises. These exercises are good for gaining and maintaining good health. Also, practice pelvic floor exercise or kegel exercise, consists of repeatedly contracting and relaxing the muscles that form part of the pelvic floor. It makes the muscles of pelvis toned and strengthened! in order to locate your pelvic muscles try to stop and begin the flow of urine as using the bathroom. You can perform kegel exercises with the empty bladder as exercising pelvic muscle with the full bladder might result in urinary tract infections.

Exercise at least 5 times per week 2. Eat whole/unprocessed foods at regular intervals, while being aware of physical hunger/fullness cues 3. Sleep 7-9 hours per night 4. Don’t engage in extreme diets 5. Stay consistent with your habits 6. Incorporate non-exercise physical activity 7. Dear lybrate-user, namaskar, this occurs due to disturbed blood circulation. An imbalance of blood (more) coming down to the part and blood (less) returning back from there. You must do contrast bath, two times a day. Take two buckets full of hot and cold (ice in it) water. Put both the feet (up to calves) first in hot for one minute (move the toes and ankles actively) and then in cold for one minute (move the parts actively). To be done for about 15-20 minutes. After few minutes when hot water becomes cold. Add boiling water to make it hot again and add ice to the other bucket (more the difference in temp. Better is the result). After it is done. Massage the affected side from the foot down. Above (proximal) to the calf with mustard (or any oil) for 5 minutes. Wipe them and apply elastic bandages support 4" x 2 from toes to the calf. The elastic support is to be worn whole day and should be taken out only at night. Keep two pillows under the leg at night. Keep on doing the exercises (seek advice of a physio. Avoid keeping the foot hanging. If unavoidable. Keep on moving the toes actively up and down while sitting. The problem should settle in 4-6 weeks. Always wear the elastic support from waking to sleeping time and never allow the swelling to occur even for few minutes. Because the fluid causing the swelling makes home in the tissues of the affected part (foot and ankle. We have to get that home obliterated and collapsed by observing the advised discipline. Else it finds it's way again and the swelling persists for longer time. Take care. You can revert back to me after 10-15 days with the result of the advised ordeal. To be done religiously. Take care.

First and foremost, I would advise you to consult an ent specialist in person. Your symptoms are suggestive of mandibular joint issues/ arthritis issues on the left side of your face as you describe. Your consulting physician, nevertheless, can examine you clinically and confirm the diagnosis. He/ she may require you to undergo a few diagnostics including imaging/ blood tests as appropriate. In the mean time, you need to take care not to take anything hard so that you do not strain your left side of the jaw. Also, avoid taking cold & very hot foods for the time being. Also, avoid direct blasts of cold air to your face especially. Warm saline gargling, 2 times daily is advisable. You may also get relief by applying mild heat (as tolerable), can use either a hot water bag or a heat pad as convenient. Keep your diet and lifestyle streamlined, with due room for relaxation/ de-stressing. Hope this helps.

General Physician,
6 Crucial Tests You Must Do If You Have Diabetes
========================================
High is our spirit when it comes to having chatpata khaana, cold drinks, ice creams and fast food. How excited are we in going for tests regularly once we feel diabetes creeping into our system or when we have been diagnosed of diabetes?
Going for diabetes-related check-ups is something most of us don’t take seriously. Unfortunately, most of us don’t realize the negative impact of diabetes on our body including the brain, kidneys, heart, legs and eyes. High levels of blood sugar can lead to kidney damage, blurred vision and blindness, high cholesterol and heart disease, poor blood circulation in feet and legs causing amputation in severe cases. Before it starts to cause more harm to you, it is time to go for a couple of routine tests, starting today.
Test 1 – Hemoglobin A1c
Many diabetics miss out on this one!
Getting your fasting and postprandial blood sugar levels are simply not enough.
HbA1c measures our average blood sugar of the previous three months. This is done in order to see if the blood sugar has stayed within the target and permissible range.
If the curious you want to know more about HbA1c, then here we go:
The red blood cells in our body have haemoglobin which enables the cells to facilitate oxygen in the tissues. As the cell ages, glucose molecules stick to it called ‘glycation’ in medical terms. Higher glycated haemoglobin means higher glucose levels in the blood which means higher HbA1c reading. Though normal Hb1c for non-diabetics is 4% to 5%, poorly controlled diabetes has HbA1c value of 7%. If HbA1C exceeds 8%, it means blood sugar has gone out of control.
Test 2 – Dilated Eye
People suffering from diabetes need to consult their ophthalmologist for a dilated eye exam. It’s a test in which the pupils are widened by putting eye drops so as to check any signs of blindness.
High blood sugar levels as a result of diabetes can damage the blood vessels in the retina. If not treated on time, the blood vessels can bleed leading to blurred vision and damaging the retina thereby leading to blindness in the longer run. Therefore, it’s advisable for patients suffering from Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes to go for a proper eye examination once a year. This will help in identifying eye problems and any malfunctioning in eyesight or vision that is related to diabetes. The more the delay in eye check-ups, the more are the chances of developing ocular problems.
Test 3 – Foot Examination
Patients suffering from diabetes often complain of numbness and decreased blood circulation in foot. Often they are not able to see if their foot gets injured. Even if an infection occurs, healing is slow in diabetics increasing the risk of gangrene. If ignored, the complications can lead to foot amputation.
From time to time keep checking your feet for sores and infections, especially between the toes. If you notice any ulcers, blisters, skin breakouts or redness happening, consult your doctor right away.
Test 4 – Blood Lipids/ Cholesterol Check
This test is all about lipid profile screening that should be done once a year. It checks your HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol) as well as triglyceride levels. Ideally, your LDL cholesterol should be less than 100. However, if you are a patient suffering from heart disease, your doctor may advise you a further lower LDL figure.
Test 5 – Kidney function
Make it a point to get an annual urine test done. This will check out the protein levels in your body. Also make sure to get a blood test done annually to check out the creatinine level. Both these tests help in analysing the performance of your kidneys.
Test 6 – Blood Pressure
From time to time, get your blood pressure checked. As a diabetic, the goal should be to get 125/75. In case you are a healthy individual without diabetes, your blood pressure should be less than 130/80.
Now that you have got a fair knowledge of the lab tests that need to be done in case you have diabetes, go ahead and get them done. Timely screening of diabetes is the first thing you need to go for.
Remember your loved ones wants you to stay in the pink of health. FOr more doubts ask me privately

I am 34 years old male and have backache from last 1 year and my uric acid 9.7, what should I do?

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Faridabad
I am 34 years old male and have backache from last 1 year and my uric acid 9.7, what should I do?
A high uric acid level can be caused when your body either produces too much uric acid or your kidneys don't eliminate uric acid rapidly enough. A high uric acid level may cause increasingly frequent attacks of gout, or it may never cause problems. A high uric acid level may also cause some people to develop kidney stones or kidney failure. And some people with a high uric acid level also develop high blood pressure, heart disease or chronic kidney disease, but it's often unclear whether this is a direct cause or merely an early warning sign of these conditions. Factors that may cause a high uric acid level in your blood include: Diuretic medications (water pills),Drinking too much alcohol,Genetics (inherited tendencies),hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid),Immune-suppressing drugs,Niacin, or vitamin B-3, obesity, psoriasis, Purine-rich diet — organ meat, game meat, anchovies, herring, gravy, dried beans, driedpeas, mushrooms and other foods Renal insufficiency — inability of the kidneys to filter waste Tumor lysis syndrome — a rapid release of cells into the blood caused by certain cancers or by chemotherapy for those cancers,Also, you may be monitored for high uric acid levels when undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer. Avoid protein diets, avoid more milk products. bad habits , fast food/fat/oily,salty foods. Coffee, smoking, alcohol intake. Non-veg., take whole grain, oats, green veg.,plenty of water in day time, 1 glass of water at night before bed. Take tab. Zyloric 100 mg once a day. Tab. Ulracet sos for pain in joints.

I am a 26 year old, and am suffering from frequent cold which affect my eyes. Like full day running nose and sneezes. Please help.

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
I am a 26 year old, and am suffering from frequent cold which affect my eyes. Like full day running nose and sneezes....
There are several things you can do to prevent a cold—they are all easy and inexpensive and worth the effort. Wash your hands often-with soap and warm water. The germs stick to the soap and get washed down the drain. Always wash your hands after coughing or sneezing into your hands, blowing your nose, after touching someone who is sick, or when using public restrooms or telephones. Cover Your Mouth and Nose When You Sneeze or Cough- Clean your hands every time you cough or sneeze. Avoid Touching Your Eyes, Nose, or Mouth-Germs are often spread when a person touches a contaminated surface and then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth. Stay Home When You’re Sick-Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, don’t smoke, manage stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food so you can fend off viruses. Take healthy balanced diet...like boiled eggs.daily in breakfast .. Avoid people who have a cold or cold symptoms. Routinely clean and disinfect common areas of your home. Treatment:There is a gradual 1-3 day onset of symptoms. It often starts out as a sore throat, then a fever and coughing. As the cold progresses, the nasal mucus may thicken which is the last stage before the cold dries up. A cold usually lasts for a week or two. But, taking good care of yourself at home can relieve symptoms and help prevent complications if you are otherwise healthy. Unless you develop complications, you shouldn’t need medical treatment. Complications include bacterial infections of the ears, throat, sinuses or lungs which must be treated with antibiotics. In general you should: • get plenty of rest so your body can use its energy to fight the cold • staying at home will keep you from spreading germs • drink plenty of liquids like herbal tea or hot broth/vegetable/tomato soups. Avoid foods or drinks with caffeine which can keep you from getting enough sleep Runny Nose and Sneezing- if you have post nasal drip, gargle to keep from getting a sore throat. Drink extra fluids. (avoid sugary and high calorie drinks) Use saline nasal sprays or nasal irrigation • Tablet Nasorest-P once/twice daily may reduce the amount of mucous. • Humidify the rooms you are in most or your whole house if possible. Cough-Coughing is how your body gets rid of debris and mucus from the airways during a viral infection. Unless your cough is severe or is keeping you from resting at night, it is better not to treat it. A severe cough can be treated with a cough syp, but don’t try to completely stop the cough. There are two types of coughs. Productive and non-productive or dry cough. Non-productive, dry cough. A dry, hacking cough may develop near the end of a cold. Dry coughs that follow viral colds are often worse at night and can last up to several weeks. Take syrup Alex-D for a dry cough. Cough drops can sooth an irritated throat, but most don’t affect the cough. Productive cough. A productive cough is one that brings up mucus from the back of the throat or the lungs. Productive coughs should not be suppressed to the point they no longer bring up mucus. Use syrup Alex. Drink lots of water if you have a productive cough. Head and Body Aches- Take tablet dolo-650 mg for fever once or twice daily

Do test for malaria/typhoid/dengue/cbc/lft first. To take rhus tox 200 - twice daily for next 3 days and get back to me. Also -- soak a washcloth in cool tap water, wring out the excess water and then sponge areas like your armpits, feet, hands and groin to reduce the temperature. Also, you can place cold, damp washcloths on your forehead and the back of your neck. The cloth pieces should be changed regularly after a few minutes. This remedy is beneficial when dealing with a high fever as it helps keep temperature under control. You can also take a bath in lukewarm water to relax your body. Taking a shower, however, may not be a good idea. Plus, needless to say, take as much rest as possible as it helps the body fight the illness. Note: do not use very cold water as it may cause the internal body temperature to increase. For further queries get back to me.
