Making dietary changes is your first line of defense in treating hypothyroidism. 1. Greatly reduce or eliminate caffeine and sugar, including refined carbohydrates like flour, which the body treats like sugar. 2. Up the protein - Protein transports thyroid hormone to all your tissues and enjoying it at each meal can help normalize thyroid function. Proteins include nuts and nut butters; hormone- and antibiotic-free animal products and legumes. 3. Get fat - Fat is your friend and cholesterol is the precursor to hormonal pathways; if you’re getting insufficient fat and cholesterol, you could be exacerbating hormonal imbalance, which includes thyroid hormones. Natural, healthful fats include olive oil; ghee; avocados; flax seeds; fish; nuts and nut butters; hormone- and antibiotic-free full fat cheese, yogurt, and cottage cheese (yes, full fat, not skim); and coconut milk products 4. Nutrient-up - While nutritional deficiencies may not be the cause of hypothyroidism, not having enough of these micronutrients and minerals can aggravate symptoms: vitamin D, iron, omega-3 fatty acids, selenium, zinc, copper, vitamin A, the B vitamins, and iodine 5. Go gluten-free - The molecular composition of thyroid tissue is almost identical to that of gluten. So for those with Hashimoto’s, it’s a case of mistaken identity. Eating gluten can increase the autoimmune attack on your thyroid. 6. Be mindful of goitrogens - goitrogens are foods that can interfere with thyroid function. Goitrogens include broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, spinach, strawberries, peaches, peanuts, radishes, and soybeans 7. Look at your stressors and practice relaxation. The thyroid is a very sensitive gland and is exceptionally reactive to the stress response. Besides this, do work out and if you want homeopathic medicine, then do contact us.

Regular exercise and proper diet can control diabetes. These can reduce your medicinal dose.So do exercise like swimming, skipping, plank, push ups sit ups, yoga after taking lukewarm water with lemon juice. It will help to lose extra weight.Eat small amount of foods frequently.Eat 5-6 times instead of 3 big meals. No sugar sweetened juice, soft drinks, fast foods, junk foods, processed foods.Avoid underground vegetables, banana, pumpkin.Eat plenty of vegetables, whole fruits.Use unrefined foods but not much.Extra protein will improve insulin sensitivity.Use healthy fats in cooking small amount. You take almond, walnut.Avoid smoking alcohol.Drink lots of water specially before meals.Take stress free rest.

My age is 45 years I am suffering from diabetes please give some suggestion for food plan.
You are a young diabetic. For control of diabetes a three prong strategy is used, that medicine, exercise and diet. I hope you are taking medicine under supervision of a diabetologist. You must do at least one hour of physical exercise every day, it should be combination of walking/ jogging, yoga, and weight training. Diet, the major portion of your diet must be salads and fruits. You must have large quantities of salad (cucumber, radish, little carrot, onion, tomato, raw broccoli, raw cauliflower, mushroom, papaya etc.). Also there every day you must eat adequate amount of protein, egg white, fish and chicken are good for you. Avoid meat as much as possible. Cut down on roti and rice as much as possible. Make salads and protein major part of your diet.

Diabetes is caused due to no insulin production or insulin is produced but not utilised. If it is not managed slowly it starts effecting other organs also. Diet medication and physical activity three things together will help you to control your diabetes.

Dear Lybrate user, Diabetes would not show its complications in small period except if it is ketoacidosis. Diabetes is a silent killer. You need to do few more investigations at earliest and consider starting medicines. Your sugar level definitely warranties to start the treatment. Reach me or any other physicians to consider starting medication. Diet modification is also equally important.

Either you can take anti thyroid medicines for few years or directly go for radio iodine ablation. Surgery to be avoided as far as possible.

Dear, Diabetes is often called the silent killer. Diabetes, is a metabolic disease in which sugar does not get metabolized properly in the body. This means that the blood sugar levels continue to be high, threatening the normal functioning of the body. According to Ayurveda There are 20 forms of Diabetes : 4 are due to Vata, 6 result from Pitta, and 10 are caused by Kapha. But Diabetes (MADHUMEHA) is.Mainly kapha dosha disease. Poorly managed diabetes can lead to a host of long-term complications like :- Heart attacks, Strokes, Blindness, Nerve damage, Amputation of Limb. According to me Thyroid can be one of many reasons to get irregular period... As far as thyroid medication it needs to be continued for life long in most cases.. For scanty periods first you should do is get investigated specifically for USG abdomen. As an alternative treatment homeopathy works best and has permanent solution without any side effects... For that many details required... Consult with proper details...
