My wife (24 years) is suffering from pcos and get pregnant by clomid and other injection (without ivf). Now she is 3 months pregnant, and regularly take progesterone hormones tablets. My questions are: 1. Still have any chances of miscarriage after 3 months in pcos? 2. What types of vaccines and immunization required in pregnancy and when, in india? 3. Is it safe to have sex in this case or when it is safe? 4. Any special guidance or precaution in this case. Thanks rajesh.

Dear, once your wife is pregnant and she is already 3 months through so the pregnancy behaves like pretty much any other pregnancy but as every human body is different therefore she will require medications as per her body needs. Which is to be examined in person by a gynaecologist

Please visit your Doctor once. Also note the following: A transvaginal ultrasound should be able to show at least a gestational sac once the hCG levels have reached between 1, 000 – 2, 000mIU/ml. Because levels can differentiate so much and conception dating can be wrong, a diagnosis should not be made by ultrasound findings until the hCG level has reached at least 2,000.

Hii lybrate-user, first tell me have you done any ultrasound till now. If not I suggest you to immediately go for one ultrasound. Minimal three ultrasound are required in a normal pregnancy. Sometimes there are few complications in a pregnancy, which need to diagnosed before time so tha appropriate management can be started. So I advise you to go for ultrasound immediately if not done before. Do nt wait.

Irregular periods may be due to PCOS, thyroid dysfunction or hormonal imbalance and other uterine disorders like fibroid etc. Hence please have all the relevant tests done to know the exact cause but please try not to use contraceptive pills or hormonal supplements which will have lot more side effects.

hi Nutan, it could be due to pregnancy or hormonal imbalance caused by PCOD. you need to get complete investigations and clinical examination for further guidance. in PCOD if you have always delayed period then you can wait for 7days, but if it is too long interval then you should start medicine to get periods.

I think you are confused, unwanted 72 will not abort a pregnancy. It is an emergency contraceptive and it can only prevent pregnancy and not abort it. So kindly visit a registered gynaecologist and take advise regarding abortion.

Hi Santosh problem of PCOD is associated with high androgen which leads to excess of hair growth on body.,which can be treaed with laser. You can have irregular and delayed periods, you may need treatment to conceive due to anovulation.

Sir my wife faced lake of hemoglobin problem during the pregnancy. What diet use for this time.
hi lybrate user, it is difficult to follow healthy and nutritional diet because of nausea and vomiting .you should have short but frequent meals. in the morning you should have red coloured dry fruits, dry toast in the morning. all fruits such as pomegranate, apple, banana, pear ,green leafy vegetables are good source of dietery iron . you should never take iron with milk and calcium as it will prevent absorption of iron. increase vit C in diet such as lemon, tomotos, orange, sometimes, gooseberry, fig to increase iron absorption. increase proteins in diet pulses, beans, egg whites, fish, meat which helps to increase in hemoglobin.
