How can I loose my weight. Its nearly 100 kg. And I have thyroid. I have tried many things like gyming, yoga.
If your having thyroid your weight loss will be slow. For this you should do daily walking for at least 45 minutes. Have your meals 5-6 times a day which is low in carbohydrate like roti, brown rice, salads. Stop having raw cabbage, soy and soya product and do not have anything to eat for half an hour after taking your thyroid medicine.

I am very thin. I want a perfect body. Which type of food I have to take and which type of exercise I have to do?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
I am very thin. I want a perfect body. Which type of food I have to take and which type of exercise I have to do?
To remain healthy and fit, you should follow 3 steps in your life 1. Balanced diet 2. Early morning brisk morning walk for 30 minutes and 10 minutes evening walk after dinner 3. Drink 6-8 glasse of water daily. As 60% of our body is made of water, it acts as a carrier of essential nutrients inside our body. Loosing as little as 5% of body's weight as water can cause headache, fatigue and lower your muscle strength. To stay healthy, an adult should drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday. Balanced diet= 60% carbohydrates + 20% fats + 20% proteins 1. Carbohydrates: our main source of energy. Stored in liver and muscles. Carbohydrates are used the most by our body duringexercise. Hence, it is important for people who exercise regularly to consume a diet rich in carbohydrates. (a) instant/rapid carbohydrates energy sources: banana, milk, sweets, sugarcane juice. (b) slow carbohydrates energy sources: beans, bread, cereals, potato, pulses, rice. 2. Proteins: essential for growth, repair of muscle, skin, hair and body tissues. Protein deficiency leads to low immunity, hairfall, feeling of tiredness. Proteins are not stored in our body as any excess protein is converted to energy or fat. Hence, a person requires protein intake every day. When the body does not get enough carbohydrates to fuel itself, it falls back on protein bank. That is why people who follow starvation diets or go on fasting lose muscle tissue. (a) major protein sources: egg white (white portion), milk, soybeans/soymilk, fish, cheese, tofu. (b) other protein sources: beans with wheat, nuts, curd, yogurt (dahi). 3. Fats: required and healthy when taken in small amounts. Excess fat leads to weight gain, increase in bad cholesterol (ldl) and heartproblems (a) major fats sources: egg yolk (yellow portion), avocados, whole milk, butter, cheese, nuts. (b) other fats sources: corn, vegetable/olive oil, biscuits, flaxseeds (san beej). 4. Vitamins and minerals: critical for normal functioning of organs and processes within our body. They do not provide energy directly but work behind the scenes to break down food into energy. 5. Fiber: it helps retain water and in making our stools softer to avoid constipation. Intake should be 25 to 35 grams a day. 6. Calories: a measure of how much energy food or drink contains. On an average, a man needs around 2, 000 calories a day and a woman 1700 calories a day to maintain his weight and good health. Number varies by person depending upon weight, age and how active the lifestyle is. 7. Guideline: each day have 3 main meals, 2 snacks, 5 pieces of fruit and at least 1 glass of milk. 4. Bramari pranayam or bee breath 1. Close your eyes. Focus on your breathing. 2. Place your thumbs in your ears, your index fingers above your eyebrows, and your remaining along the sides of your nose. Keep each pinky finger near a nostril. 3. Breath in deeply through the nose. First, feel the diaphragm move down, allowing the lungs to expand and forcing the abdomen out; then feel your chest expand with your collar bones rising last. 4. Use your pinkies to partially close each nostril. Keep your lungs filled. 5. Breathe out through the nose while humming. Note that the humming sound should originate in your throat, not as a result of your partially-blocked nostrils. 6. Repeat twenty times. Starting from 5 times in nut-shell, think good, eat good, sleep good andby adopting these 3 point in your life you will remain fit as ever.

Hi, If you are constantly worrying, feeling tense, or thinking negative or catastrophic things will happen, you may be struggling with anxiety. Although the exact causes of anxiety are uncertain, people who suffer from this condition often share risk factors, such as having a family member who has anxiety, experiencing trauma, being female, or having other forms of mental illness. Fortunately, the right combination of medications, cognitive approaches, and lifestyle changes can help you to reduce the symptoms and overcome anxiety. Sleep and anxiety have a complex chicken-or-the-egg relationship. A lack of sleep can cause anxiety, and anxiety can result in sleep disturbance. To gain control of your anxiety, focus on getting at least seven hours of sleep each night. Use the following tips to get adequate shut-eye: Allow your body to adjust to sleeping on a regular schedule. Turn off electronics 30 minutes prior to bed. Make your bed room environment comfortable and strictly for sleeping. Exercise. Develop a winding down ritual to follow nightly. Use aromatherapy like lavender scents to promote relaxation. Quit smoking (nicotine can affect sleep). In addition to maintaining overall physical health, exercise can have a profound impact on mental well-being. Physical activity generates endorphins, which are the body's feel-good chemicals. As a result, engaging in exercise regularly can relieve stress and distract you from worries. Doctors suggest getting approximately 30 minutes of exercise each day of the week. Walk, jog, row, or bike — it's up to you. Just choose an activity that you will commit to. Eat a balanced diet. You may not understand the connection between what you eat and how you feel, but it's definitely there. Certain foods and beverages like refined sugar or caffeine, may worsen anxiety. Instead, drink plenty of water and eat healthy meals with a balance of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, and lean protein. There are heaps of research connecting caffeine to increased anxiety. Caffeine has been found to increase anxiety, depression, and hostility. Avoid caffeine in soda, coffee and tea (go for decaf), and even chocolate. You need to practice deep breathing exercise: Find a quiet space where you can be alone with no distractions. Close the door, if possible. As you get used to this breathing exercise, you may be able to close out distractions and perform the exercise around others. Sit upright, with your back straight. You can sit in a chair, or sit on the floor with your legs crossed, whatever feels more natural. You can lie down if you must. Keep in mind, however, that sitting upright allows your lungs to fill to maximum capacity, which is best when practicing deep breathing Place your arms on the arms of a chair or resting on your thighs. This removes the burden from your shoulders and aids in relaxation. For a count of four seconds, breathe deeply through your nose. Your lower belly should expand with the breath. For one to two seconds, simply hold the breath inside your chest. Now, exhale all of the air out of your lungs through your mouth. You should hear a" whoosh" sound as it leaves your mouth. Notice your belly deflating as you release the breath. To avoid hyperventilating, pause for a few seconds before taking a new breath. Do this entire sequence again for about five minutes. About six to eight cycles of breathing per minutes is considered effective at relieving anxiety. Nonetheless, you should find your own natural breathing rhythm that makes you comfortable. Practice deep breathing at least twice a day for five minutes each session. Note that deep breathing should not be saved for only when you are experiencing anxiety. Practice this exercise daily to manage the symptoms of anxiety and fend off stress.

Apple is a miracle fruit for the skin. The alpha hydroxy acids or AHA’s present in apples improves skin color and elasticity of the skin.Soak peeled apple slices in milk for 20 minutes and then blend to form a creamy paste.Place in the freezer for 10 minutes, and then mix a tsp of lemon juice, apply all over your face and neck.Rinse off after 15 minutes with cool water and massage an ice cube. The skin looks baby soft, smooth with a rosy white glow.Follow this for a week to get fair skin naturally. or All the natural ingredients (Tretinoin, Hydroquinone and Cortisone) inlcuded in Melamet have only one goal: to improve your skin tone. Tretinoin helps prevent and treat acne and wrinkles by peeling off dead skin cells. Hydroquinone is the skin lightener agent in this equation that improves the overall tone of your skin. Cortisone is an anti-allergy ingredient that reduces inflammation and/or itching.' How to Use: Use the Melamet Cream just before bedtime. Wash it off in the morning, and apply some sunscreen if you intend to go outdoors. Failure to do so will cause significant damage and even result in your skin turning black.

Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -some physiotherapy treatment like ift current can give you some relief.

Hi,24, I am facing a difficult time due to my career and marriage. I am unmarried right now, but there is pressure on me for that. I was a calm person. Considerably calm person. But now I am getting irritable, and I loose control while reacting on very small things. I am never happy, I have lost interest in my favorite things, I do not like going out now, I just want to know, is it normal? Am I facing any kind of depression?

In an Indian family, a 24 year young girl is always a matter of concern in the family. It is our culture that forces parents under peer pressure to make sure you find a good suitable husband as soon as possible. It becomes a part of their social duty. If you do not want to get married as yet, you have to do something that will justify your remaining single for a while. Take up a course of study that will enhance your capabilities, even for a job in the future. Speak to your parents about your ambitions of what you would like to do in the next few years. It will be a great idea for you to take a few days off mentally for yourself and decide who you would like your future husband to be like and express this to your parents. It will make their efforts more worthy (because they will not stop tying) and you will be less irritated with rejections. Most of all, you are not Depressed. But you have to find time and make all effort to clear your mind first. And express it in clear terms to your parents. Remember, it may seem hurtful to be clear and direct with them, but in the long run, irritation from wrong choices will be avoided. You are a young girl of the new generation. It is better to be clear NOW. Than regret in the future. After-all, as parents, they have your good in heart, but as many many families, the generation gap and new thinking is not easy to deal with. Best of luck.
