Actually your mind is not focused on studies. You are not enjoying your studies and are just killing your time. This is the time when you must act all cylinders and make up your career and you are jusst spoiling this time.It shows that either you are not serious about your future or you have distracted from your goals. So once agaain think what you want in your life because you are lagging behind with each passing day.The time once lot will never come baack again.

I am 19 year old boy! And I am very keen to ask you this question that if I drink 5 to 6 whiskey once in 3 to 4 months will it be dangerous for my health! And I do not smoke.

I am 19 year old boy! And I am very keen to ask you this question that if I drink 5 to 6 whiskey once in 3 to 4 month...
Hye. Thankyou for the query. Since alcohol has no health benefits, ideally there are no recommendations. If you are healthy and physically active and do not have any underlying health condition chances are drinking alcohol once in 5 months may not cause any serious chronic ailment. But you have to understand that knowing thick could make you develop it into a habit or an addiction.

Hello- follow these points for blood sugar control- a) avoid day sleep. B) avoid over eating, non-vegetarian diet, rice, potato and dairy products. C) take evening meals before 7 pm. D) walk at least 100 yards or sit in vajrasana position after meals. E) go for morning walk or kapal bhati pranayam early morning. F) physical exertion and increase sweating will help in diabetes. Yes, definitely it is possible to reduce weight. Take one dose of Lycopodium 30C and then take Cosmos 30C one dose daily. Drink warm water with lemon and honey added to it in morning empty stomach. And then do not eat or drink anything till next half hour. This burns the excess of fats of the body. And then do yoga or brisk walking. This will also help you a lot. All the best :) Take care :)

Haemophilia - A Complete Guide!

MBBS
General Physician, Pune
Haemophilia - A Complete Guide!

Haemophilia is a type of disorder in which blood does not clots easily or in a normal way. Haemophilia A is one of the common types of disease which causes due to deficiency of blood clotting factor VIII. Haemophilia B is another type which is caused due to the deficiency of blood clotting factor IX. Haemophilia is a lifetime condition which has no exact cure but can be managed by treatment. Haemophilia is a hereditary disorder which is mostly seen in men but is also observed in women sometimes if they carry the gene.

Symptoms of Haemophilia
Symptoms of haemophilia can vary depending on the severity of the disease. In most of the cases, bleeding is the common symptom of haemophilia. Sometimes, haemophilia causes internal bleeding which if left untreated can cause joint pains. There are some other general symptoms seen in people suffering from haemophilia. They are listed here.

  1. Bleeding through the nose
  2. Bruising
  3. Bleeding seen in faeces or urine
  4. Continuous bleeding when removal of tooth, surgery and when injured
  5. Unprompted bleeding
  6. Bleeding seen in joints which lead to swelling and pain
  7. Bleeding seen in urinary and gastrointestinal tracts

In some cases, internal bleeding happens in the brain which may come into notice during an injury. Such type of internal bleeding can be detected by the following symptoms.

  1. A severe headache
  2. Drowsiness
  3. Neck pain
  4. Severe stiffness in the body
  5. Abrupt weakness
  6. Problems in walking

Treatment for Haemophilia
The standard treatment of haemophilia involves mainly in replacement of missing clotting factor. As haemophilia is caused due to deficiency of factor VIII, the treatment involves the injection of factor VIII concentrates into the body which can be identified depending on the severity of bleeding, the site of bleeding and the age of the patient. Depending on the seriousness of the disease, factor VIII concentrates are given to the patient before going for surgery or dental extractions. This can help in preventing the bleeding.

As haemophilia is a hereditary disease, it is advisable to concentrate on prevention rather than cure of the disease. In order to prevent the disease, it is wise to undergo a genetic counselling. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a general physician.

Sunscreen - Do's And Don'ts

MD - Skin,VD & Lepxsy

Sunscreen - Do's And Don'ts

With summer right around the corner, it is tremendously important to stress upon the importance of using sunscreen. The right sunscreen provides protection from the spectrum of harmful rays of the sun that are known as uva and UVB, which not only create the threat of skin cancer but also fasten the process of skin aging. Taking adequate measures against these hazards is thus of prime importance.

No sunscreen provides absolute protection from the harmful rays of the sun but using the right product in the right way will take you far in shielding yourself from their harshness. These are the do's and don'ts you need to follow before you apply sunscreen the next time.

Do: Choose a sunscreen that is, at least, spf 30+

That is the minimum protection that your skin requires. And if you must stay outdoors for an extended period of time, opt for a product with a higher SPF rating.

Do: Apply sunscreen 15-30 minutes before going outdoors

For the product to be most effective, it needs to be fully absorbed by the skin before exposure to the sun; the reason why applying approximately 30 minutes before you step out of home is a must.

Do: Test a small amount of the product on yourself before application

Apply a small amount of sunscreen on your wrist first and check for allergic reactions if you're trying it for the first time or are switching over to a new brand. In case it causes an allergic reaction, discontinue use at once and consult a dermatologist regarding, which sunscreen you should use.

Do: Use sunscreen every day of the year

The sun's harmful rays persist in all seasons, whether it's summer or winter. Even on cloudy days, it's advisable to apply sunscreen to protect the skin as UV rays are still able to penetrate through thick covers of cloud, thereby harming your skin.

Don't: Apply sunscreen only on the face

Make sure you apply it to every part of your body, especially the hands, forearms, thighs and ears, which are commonly exposed to the sun. Not only are these more prone to skin ageing, but the risk of melanoma (skin cancer) is also tremendously high in these portions of the body.

Don't: Forget to reapply

Sunscreens rub off quite easily due to sweating or contact with water. Reapply as often as you can, ideally every 2 hours.

Keep in mind that apart from the application of sunscreen, it is also necessary to keep the skin covered as much as possible to protect yourself against skin ailments caused by exposure to the sun. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.
