How to increase overall body growth, in terms of height and body weight,
Medication preferred over diet course.
Natural methods to grow body are all based on sound scientific methods and they do work if we follow them. These methods do not claim to give drastic results because these don’t interfere with our endocrine system and functioning of our body. These methods are the best way to try to grow body. Proper Diet and Nutrition: • Liver • Green vegetables • Potatoes • Nuts such as almonds and peanuts • Chicken • Beans • Peas • Fruits like apples and bananas Milk and dairy products Proper diet and nutrition play an extremely important role in body growth. . A well balanced diet which is rich in calcium, phosphorus, iodine and magnesium is extremely important for proper growth. For these minerals to be assimilated in our body we must refrain from junk food and food that contains trans-fats as these interfere with the absorption of the minerals and nutrients which are needed for our growth. In order to get protein, carbohydrates, amino acids and calcium required for healthy growth and development, we should make these following items a part of our everyday meal. • Egg yolk • Beef • Carrots • Fish The importance of calcium in the overall development of the human body cannot be ignored. This nutrient is vital for the growth and maintenance of strong bones and cartilages. Thus, it is advisable to have milk and dairy products to fulfill our calcium requirements. Apart from this, we must also drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water daily to detoxify your body. Proper sleep A good night’s sleep is absolutely essential not only for our overall well being but our growth also. It is due to the fact that the growth hormone does its job of thickening and lengthening your bones during deep sleep. I want to Put on My weight. So can you Tell ME that endura Mass is Good Or Bad for health. So can you Tell ME pls.

B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition, Nutrition Certification,Registered Dietitian
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Delhi
I want to Put on My weight. So can you Tell ME that endura Mass is Good Or Bad for health. So can you Tell ME pls.
Endura Mass is not bad but not a permanent solution for weight gain. To gain weight you should eat more calories than you burn. Plus not only you have to eat calorie dense food but you have to keep in mind that what you are eating is healthy too. In the process of weight gain you do not want to put weight in an uneven manner and look unhealthy rather than looking bright and healthy. Start exercising. Start working out if you are not active. The biggest myth that prevails now a days is that thin people do not need to work out. This is wrong. When you challenge your body, it is forced to grow. But this growth can only be possible if you are eating enough food to let the body absorb and grow in size and muscles. Eat Healthy. Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food and any form of sugar. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 3 hours. This means you have to eat 6 small meals in a day. Your daily food intake should ideally consist of nuts, dry fruits, seeds, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. Consume good amount of fruits and vegetables. Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. Eat whole grains. Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. Supplementation. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow the regimen of weight gain religiously and you will soon start seeing the results.

What are the side effects of eating mud, brick pieces, sand, chalk etc. Why children do so.
Whenever there is iron deficiency in our body we tend to eat mud, chalk etc and there is digestion problems after eating all the things you mentioned and instead if we give them iron syrup directly than they stop eating unwanted stuff on their own.

How ca I get a eight pack body in only thirteen dats please reply as possible sa posinlbke?

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Hye, thanks for the query. You cannot get eight packs abs in such less time. It needs discipline in diet and workout of a good time. Firstly understand that muscle gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism along with your daily diet and exercise routine. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Muscle gain is all about taking more nutrients than you use up. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. There is no one food that helps muscle gain. Eat meals at frequent intervals. You need to eat at least 6 meals a day. Eat a protein rich mid meal between each main meal. Pre/ post workout meals need a certain amount of carbs and proteins depending on your exercise routine. Avoid junk, sugary, oily foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits, dry fruits, vegetables, whole grain cereals, smoothies, masala milk, healthy oils in your diet. Restrict eating sugary, sweet foods. Try to have healthy deserts like kheer, chikki or lassi. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least 6 days a week. It helps development of muscle mass and improves appetite. Even if you were to take just medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation. You need to have a nutrient dense meal and good exercise routine, it's crucial.

M.Sc - Dietitics / Nutrition
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Bangalore
Exercise at least 45 minutes a day helps to develop muscles. Outdoor games and physical activities help to build muscles and regulate appetite. A walk before meals can be done to feel hunger. Take balanced nutritious foods. Do not miss any meal. Avoid junk food. Avoid carbonated beverages. Take iron rich food like pulses, millets, vegetables, milk, milk products, etc. Fruits, grains, legumes, nuts, vegetables provide high quality protein and calories and are also rich in iron. Home based foods are best. Salads are preferable as they are rich in vitamins, minerals and fibers. Easily digestible fats like cream, butter, oils will help to increase the weight. Two feeds incorporating soups, juices or sweets in between meals improve the nutritive value of diet. Porridge, cutlets, desserts, potato chips, milk, malt, badam kheer are rich source of energy and protein. Sufficient water should be taken.

I am diabetes patient. I have tried many treatments but no one works. Can you help me in this?

BHMS
Homeopath,
I am diabetes patient. I have tried many treatments but no one works. Can you help me in this?
Dear lybrate user, one of the major nutritional substance required for human body is carbohydrate. We take carbohydrate in the form of rice, wheat, sugar etc. The complex molecules of carbohydrate are broken down into simple glucose molecules during digestion & released in the blood stream to be absorbed by the muscle cells. Muscle cells utilise the glucose molecules to release energy by breaking down those glucose molecules. Insulin hormone plays a vital role in the absorption of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells. In abnormal conditions, either due to less production of insulin or due to resistance to insulin, the process of absorption of glucose by the muscles comes to a stand still. The glucose molecules remains in the bloodstream which results in the increase in the blood sugar level. The failure of utilisation of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells results in production of less energy than normal condition. This is externally manifested as the fatigue & tiredness of the patient. This excess amount of blood sugar compels the kidney to function more than normal level in order to excrete the blood sugar molecules through urine. As a result the patient suffers from frequent urination. This abnormal condition is clinically known as diabetes mellitus. Once a patient is diagnosed with diabetes he has to take regular medicine to keep his blood sugar level within normal limits. However, the patient does not need to take medicine unless his/her post. Prandial blood sugar level reaches 200. If post. Prandial blood sugar level reaches 200 then patient can take homoeopathic mother tincture gymnema sylvestra q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. Along with intake of medicines the patient need to walk at least 1 hour daily without any interval. In order to decrease the intake of carbohydrate in diet the patient should avoid rice, sweet dishes, fruits, cold drinks, fast foods, alcoholic beverages, potato etc.

The following tips help one to maintain food and sleep time and overall health holistically: a) have bath regularly in evening after coming from work or before going to bed. Early to bed and early to rise (awake) is a nice process for natural sleep cycle. B) do not engage mind in active work or stressful talking at night before bed time. C) do not engage mind in too much of computer work in night before bed time (for example, do not do stock market work in night). D) do not read or view illicit or pornographic material at any time preferably. E) do not take heavy meals in night. Best is to have heavy breakfast, lighter lunch and lightest dinner to maintain stomach rhythm which affects sleep. Vegetarian diet is best for good sleep. F) do not over engage mind in television in night. H) do not smoke cigarette, chew tobacco, tobacco containing masala, or similar intoxicants which can disturb rhythm of mind and disturb sleep cycle. I) no tea or coffee in night (preferably cocoa and caffeine containing drinks should be totally avoided for best results). J) listen to relaxing music and even then if you do not get sleep, then hear soothing stories. K) read books which not only calm the mind but also nourish the thinking process. Mantra meditaion is a process recommended for this age for overall wellbeing. This process automatically improves learning power and concentration. In fact, it is the key process for making the human life successful as it re-awakens the natural blissful state. Mantra meditation simply means chanting the names of god with love and devotion. Early morning time is best suited for mantra meditation.

Our Daily energy requirements for proper functioning of our body is 1600-2200 K cal of Energy if we want to remain fit and healthy. But there is a misconception that weight is reduced by dieting. But weight is not reduced by only skipping our meals or prohibition from sugars but until we are not aware what are our body energy requirements ,it will be difficult to loose weight. If we restrict ourself from taking daily diet to 1100-1200 Kcalories ,and increases our workouts, only then we can think about reducing our weight and for that we must obtain proper knowledge of exact energy levels in a particular dish we are eating, only then we can achieve our target of reducing weight by means of simple mathematical calculation.
