Hi, If you’re aiming to gain some strength and build muscle, you must follow the points mentioned below: 1.Start exercising. If you’re a beginner, focus on bodyweight exercises like push up, pull up and squat. The basic push up and chin up are invaluable exercises you can do with very little equipment. Increase their difficulty by adding reps or affixing weights to your legs. 2.Consume a balanced diet. It's important to eat big meals to fuel muscle growth while you're training. You’ll need to eat healthy, whole foods that will nourish and restore your muscles. Consume all types of fruits, vegetables, grains, oils and dairy products. 3.Take adequate rest. Many people take this step lightly, but it's absolutely essential when it comes to gain strength. That means you won't be able to work out as hard or lift as much as you otherwise would, not to mention you'll be more prone to injury if you're feeling sleepy. Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night, possibly more depending on your individual needs, during heavy workout periods. 4.Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Chicken breast, egg whites, fish, pulses provide you all the protein you need without containing any unnecessary fat. 5.Focus on compound movements. Compound movements are those which engages more than one muscle group. Exercises like bench press, squat, dead lift are great examples of compound exercises to gain strength quickly. 6.Lift heavy. If your main aim is to gain strength, you’ll need to lift heavy weights in the gym and thus, lower the repetitions of your sets. Moderate-rep sets are important when training for muscle size. However, to build strength, you're going to have to train with heavier weights, meaning you'll do fewer reps. 7.Limit cardio to once or twice per week. Cardio exercises like running, swimming, and biking are great ways to keep your endurance good and your circulation healthy. However, they aren't the best exercises you can do if your goal is to gain strength. Weight training requires loads of energy, and if yours has already been used up by a long run or bike ride, you won't have enough left over to give weight training your best shot. Limit cardio to once or twice per week so your energy reserves are ready to expend on building strength. Best of luck!

Ideal sleep duration is maximum six to seven hours a day. It is best not to depend on sleep medicines for sleep disturbance as in long run, they lead to dependency and increased disturbance. The following tips help one to maintain sleep times: a) have bath regularly in evening after coming from work or before going to bed. Early to bed and early to rise (awake) is a nice process for natural sleep cycle. B) do not engage mind in active work or stressful talking at night before bed time. C) do not engage mind in too much of computer work in night before bed time (for example, do not do stock market work in night). D) do not read or view illicit or pornographic material at any time preferably. E) do not take heavy meals in night. Best is to have heavy breakfast, lighter lunch and lightest dinner to maintain stomach rhythm which affects sleep. Vegetarian diet is best for good sleep. F) do not over engage mind in television in night. H) do not smoke cigarette, chew tobacco, tobacco containing masala, or similar intoxicants which can disturb rhythm of mind and disturb sleep cycle. I) no tea or coffee in night (preferably cocoa and caffeine containing drinks should be totally avoided for best results). J) listen to relaxing music and even then if you do not get sleep, then hear soothing stories or nice talks. K) read books which not only calm the mind but also nourish the thinking process.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user, Since you have a medical history of IBS, it would be actually hampering the weight gain issue. So instead of focussing on increasing weight at this age, try to include a nutritious diet in your daily schedule. Try to include mire of a rice base diet which is also bland in texture. Fibrous foods which promote gut movement should be avoided. Spicy meals should be overlooked and dairy products like cheese, whole milk need to be avoided.

Hello lybrate user, back pain is very common in sedentary lifestyle where you have to sit all day long to work in an attention position. This is usually due to a spasm in the muscles around your vertebral column (commonly reffered to as paraspinal muscles) medicines, hot water fomentation and physiotherapy will help you to deal with the condition. More importantly it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly and eating healthier on a daily basis. 1 percent improvement a day must be sought, that will contribute to around 30 percent over a month. Thank you stay healthy stay young.

Fat-Rich Diet: Intake of animal fat content should not exceed recommended levels because of the increased risk of cholesterol in blood. Instead, one can opt for unsaturated plant fats that are healthy and very helpful for weight gain.

Drink lots of milk yourself. Take lots of green leafy vegetables as there might be iron defeciency. Also take rest when ever possible. Just lying down can release body stress. Do some deep breathing daily for 10 min. Increase your protein inatke. Dal, soyabean and meat, eggs are good source of proteins.
