Hello, •Go for meditation to nourish your entire body to strengthen your cell & tissues improving your body in a healthy manner by  improving your stamina reducing your stress and depression. •Take,  plenty of water to hydrate your body, regulating your metabolism to absorb, proteins, vitamins, minerals to enshape  your  body. •Your diet be easily digestible, thrice a day, preferably -high in protein, carbohydrates- and fats, take  fish, eggs, chicken to energise your body. • Take  apples, carrots, potatoes, sweet- potatoes, milk,  almonds. •Take, banana with hot milk in the breakfast. •Add ghee in lunch. 1. Aim for long term weight loss @ 2-3 Kg per month = 12-15 kgs in 6 months. So on. 2. Add 2-3 Fruits to your daily diet before meals. Double your water intake. 3. Cut down Sweets/Biscuits/ Colas/Juices from your diet. 4. Completely eliminate Puris/Parathas/Pizzas/Burgers/Fried Rice/Biryani etc 5. Eat slowly and mindfully. Reduce portion size. 6. At the age of 30 my body weight revolve around 60-63. I hav tried a lot to put on some weight but all gone waste. I hav less appetite compare to others. I eat good quality food but quantity wise it is less. Suggest ways to increase food intake /appetite or ways to gain body weight.

I think you don't have any medical condition. Increase your physical activity which boosts appetite. Have a good meal after a nice workout. Drink adequate water. Have legumes, lentil ,egg whole everyday.

Hi, I am 38 years old male. From past 2 years I have frequent chest pain normally on the upper left side. I do have left arm numbness too. A back ache which feels better when stretched. I have cervical spondylitis from past 5 years. I have been to cardiologist but he says all is well and I do not need to worry. My ECG is always normal. Kindly suggest on why do I still feel occasional chest pain and left arm pain.

Might be spondylitis, acidity or anxiety. However you may get a TMT test for cardiac workup. Adopt healthy diet and exercise and avoid all forms of tobacco. This will help you regardless of whether you have disease presently or not. Regards.

lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query. Madam it would have better if you had mentioned actual blood glucose values (fasting, PP & HbA1c%) as well as TSH & T4, instead of saying both are normal. Usually in hypothyroidism (since you are taking 100 mcg levothyroxine, the condition is Hypothyroidism), there is usually a weight gain. It is possible that because of diabetes your weight has not gone up. I would like to all the above mentioned details then only some comments or suggestions can be made. Thanks.

Is banana and milk a good combination or bad combination? This food combination I have seen it in temples, as a sport supplement and a side dish for chapathi. But now in internet they say worst food combination and stuff. I'm confused as to. Fruits and yoghurt is a good combination or fruit and milk?

Better not to believe random untested and unresearched myths which are floating on the internet. Human body is rugged and it can digest different combinations of food. Milk and banana can be taken as a combination without any problem. Take food as per your choice and comfort.

First of all 1000 kcal and 90g protein is not a solution. The amount of calorie protein you require must be calculated according to your height and weight. Secondly, the reason of being underweight is to be seen. Whether it is sudden weight loss, genetic, or secondary to any medical issue etc. And you have to take help of exercises as well to tone your body. Ideally should weigh around 63 kgs. You would approximately require 1800 kcal and 70 g protein.

Go for animal proteins like meat, fish and eggs, milk. Veg sources would include dals and legumes like chhole, rajmah etc. For carbs, have more of rice and wheat products. Healthy fat includes nuts. And for fibre have more of green leafy vegetables like spinach, lettuce etc.
