Dear have you been taking opinion from your doctor. I would say this can also be due to increased sugar levels and weight. Please ensure you are eating something healthy and do at least 30-40 minutes of exercise. You are just 45 and I think there is a long way to go. Do not worry, stay positive and start taking action on how to correct. Please get in touch in case you need further assistance. Thanks

Dear, with the details you have provided, I would say please avoid any fried foods that trigger gastritis and also avoid anything fattening as your liver cannot take it. Kindly include more fruits and vegetables. Protein in the form of dhals, pulses, cereals are fine. Include more water on a daily basis. All the best.

Dear Please cheer up and begin with saying to yourself that you will lose weight. Take small steps towards healthy eating choices and portion control week by week. Do not follow any quick or fad diets. It takes a lot of determination to lose weight and taking it as a challenge is the best thing to do. Drink about 3 liters of warm/hot water every day. Begin your day with lime-honey water as this will boost your metabolism. Include a cup of green tea everyday and try to eat 5-6 small portions of food than 3 big meals. Also, after 6 pm, try eating more natural foods such as fruits and vegetables. Be strong!

Hi , When it comes to Diabetes, weight management is very important. Reducing fat will help the body to utilize insulin better. However, you must do it with great determination and small steps day by day. Do not go for any short cuts or fad diets for weight loss. Start with lifestyle modification. Cut out junk foods, stop oil fried foods, cut down sugar, eat more varieties of cereals, include at least 2 servings of fruits everyday and loads of vegetable salads. Do not miss out on calcium sources such as milk and curd as we need calcium for weight loss and also for diabetes management. Keep fueling yourself every 2-3 hours but have a watch on the portions.

I am a 26-year old female (5 feet 2 inches tall) and have recently gained around 5 kilos and now weigh 60 kgs, post marriage. I am also losing hair like crazy. Is their a change in diet needed?

Hello, Glad that you have noticed the weight gain and have started working on it. Look at adding more protein rich foods such as eggs, chicken, nuts, pulses, sprouts, milk , curd and seeds. These will also help in weight loss as these increase the body metabolism and burns more calories. Include vitamins and minerals through fruits and vegetables everyday. Also, hair is about 40-50% moisture, therefore don forget to drink at least 2-3 liters of water everyday. All the best!

Dear, Please include a healthy breakfast upon 45 mins of waking. If your breakfast is late, please include a portion of fruit such as apple, papaya or melon first thing in the morning. This will help you kickstart the day well. Include a lot of nuts, seeds, pulses and dhals over carbohydrate rich foods. Also make multigrain rotis and vary your cereals so that you get the benefit from all the cereals. You can include jowar, barley, bajra, wheat, ragi, brown rice flour etc. To ensure you lose weight faster, focus more on the foods that you eat after 5pm. Including natural foods after this time enables a healthy and a quick weight loss. You can add fruits, curd, boiled vegetables, mix veg soups and drink buttermilk for filling. You will be able to sustain with this if you eat a good breakfast and lunch. Ensure you drink at least 3 liters of water everyday. All the best. Thanks Ranjani Raman
