Yes, I have back pain. It radiates to the lt lower limb along the back of the lt thigh upto the back of the knee. No loss of sensations. It increases during walking, lifting goods and in bending position. It decreases in lying position and feel comfort after giving pillow in between two things.

Dear lybrate-user Lower back pain is because of so many reasons Starting from simple postural problem to compression at nerve roots One of d most common one is L4-5 disc tear usually seen in young adults In your case it seems to be similar But For seeking a relevant advice you need to answer few questions, Has to undergo proper set of specific tests to rule out certain specific disorders. Every case needs a detailed understanding through certain investigations and evaluations. Though rest/ hot fomentation/Physio and few days of muscle relaxants usually works well but 1st diagonosing then treating is always beneficial for complete relief. The good news is - its always treatable if timely addressed Good luck.

It can be because of gas. 1. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). 2. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. 3. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, seasonal fruit, a cup of curd/milk etc 4. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 5. Maintain active life style 6. Avoid fast foods n fried foods 7.Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 8. Drink lot of water 9. Consult with your nearest Qualified Physiotherapist for clinical evaluation and treatment. After running pain at calves and shin bone (tibia) can be due to RSI (Repetitive Stress Injury), which can be effectively dealt under a supervision of a Qualified Physiotherapist. Good luck!

Hi I am 34 years old male. Whenever I start jogging I develop knee pain and cracking sound from all joints of the body like knee, shoulder etc. The pain generally goes away after 2-3 days of leaving jogging. However cracking sound generally remains for month. Even if I do only outdoor cycling it increases pain in my lower back. My built is athletic and I was active in sports since my childhood. This problem is since 1.5-2 yrs. I had few tests including related to arthritis (HLAB27 PCR) which are normal. Should I take supplements like glucosamine, chondotorin from healthkart or osteoseal and flexibility supplement from organic India. Thanks Pankaj.

Lower Back Pain - How Your Bad Posture Is The Reason Behind It?

Incorrect posture or a sedentary lifestyle will often land you in pain in your lower back region. To control this pain, here are a few exercises which you might try out for a healthier back:

  1. Bottom to heels stretch: This helps to stretch and mobilize the spine. Keep your knees and hands in line with your hips and shoulders. Do not over arch your back as that will just bring you a negative impact. Move your bottom backwards. Hold the stretch while you breathe in and out once. Repeat this exercise 8 to 10 times.
  2. Knee Rolls: For this exercise you have to lie down on your back. Support your head with a cushion or a book. Bend your knees and keep them together. Relax your upper body. Then roll your knees, followed by your pelvis, from one side to another. Hold your stretch while you inhale and exhale once.
  3. Back extensions: For this exercise you need to lie on your stomach. You will have to prop yourself on your elbows. Arch your back while you put your hands on the ground and hold it for 5 to 10 seconds.
  4. Deep abdominal strengthening: You have to lie on your back. Support your head with a cushion or a book. Keep your knees bent and your feet straight, relax your upper body and breathe in and out while stretching your stomach muscles. Hold it for 5 to 10 breaths.
  5. Decompression Breathing: Stand with your heels slight apart from each other. Reach out overhead, lift your ribcage away from your hips while inhaling, and tighten your core while exhaling.

For a healthy and strong lower back you may require some other exercises, but to control the pain in your lower back you should absolutely make a point to try these out.
