Dear parents, andial is an anti diarrheal agent, but we are not frequently using this drug in kids. Because,it can cause constipation. Other than constipation, if your child may suffer from infective diarrhea in which bacteria can penetrate bowel wall, then loperamide will give more time to bacteria to stay in your child's gut by preventing passage of stool. So in infective diarrhea, loperamide will cause delay in clearance of bacteria. So you should take a pediatrician's advice first. And at the age of 14 months (so young child, generally loperamide is not recommended.
