I-pill is used as an emergency contraceptive tablet in the event of unsafe intercourse or failure of contraception, to avoid unintended pregnancy. Within 24-72 hours after having unprotected sex, the emergency contraceptive pill must be taken. Even if the condom didn't break, pregnancy is still possible. That's because condoms don't work all of the time. If used perfectly, condoms worn on the penis are 98 percent effective at preventing pregnancy. If used incorrectly, their effectiveness drops to about 85 percent.
