I have been diagnosed with having herpes by a doctor. But no tests have been done to confirm. Until a test is done to confirm does it mean that I have herpes or the doctor was being cautious and prescribing medication just in case? Can the blister like symptoms be another form of an infection?

Mostly it is diagnosed by the symptoms and the test is not always necessary. If you want you can take the test to confirm.
