they do work but they're not primary choice of lipid lowering drugs unless you can diabetes and statin medicines are not helping you with your high triglyceride levels . if you just have grade I fatty liver statin drugs are first choice and proper diet consult is advisable to avoid further deterioration of the disease .

It is used for dyslipidemia in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients but Not for fatty liver.presently there is no FDA approved drug . Diet and lifestyle modification programs are the solution.i do run such programs for my patients.please do let me know if you want further details.
