My brother is 28 years old and addict to ganja. We consult a psychologist doctor few months ago. He prescribed risinia syrup by Cipla- 2 ml per day. The situation is little better then before with this medicine but I want to know that is there any side effects of this medicine or whether it will create any kind of men problem as a side effects. Kindly let me know. Also I wanted to know how much time it should be continued further. Or my brother will be addicted to this medicine also? Kindly answer my questions.

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. Ganja addiction comes under SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND ADDICTION. Deaddiction treatment is best suited for such addictions. Medically assisted drug detoxification or alcohol detoxification alone is ineffective as a treatment for addiction. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) recommends detoxification followed by both medication (where applicable) and behavioral therapy, followed by relapse prevention.
