Doctor, I have been stung by wasp or bee I do not know some insect it was like whole yellow its been more then 2 days my hand is itching a lot and its swollen red and paining too. I did not find any sting that I could have removed it. I tried ice pack or lemon or vinegar and many things did not see much of a difference 1) any other home remedies which can be useful? 2) can soframycin be used? To stop itching please reply asap thank you doc.

Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this - 1)Use [CALADRYL LOTION]fot itching. 2)Take [BENADRYL soft-gelatin cap-25mg]every 8 hours for 3 days 3)Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with a little water to make a paste.Apply the paste on the sting site for 10 minutes.Wash the area with lukewarm water.If the discomfort persists, repeat the remedy after a few hours. Do follow few preventive steps like this- 1)Take care when drinking sweet beverages outside. Wide, open cups may be your best option because you can see if a bee is in them. Inspect cans and straws before drinking from them.Tightly cover food containers and trash cans. 2)Clear away garbage, fallen fruit, and dog or other animal feces (flies can attract wasps). 3)Wear close-toed shoes when walking outside. 4)Don't wear bright colors or floral prints, which can attract bees. 5)Don't wear loose clothing, which can trap bees between the cloth and your skin. 6)When driving, keep your windows rolled up. 7)Be careful when moving the lawn or trimming vegetation, activities that might arouse insects in a beehive or wasp nest. 8)If a few bees are flying around you, stay calm and slowly walk away from the area. Swatting at an insect may cause it to sting. 9)If a bee or wasp stings you, or many insects start to fly around, cover your mouth and nose and quickly leave the area. When a bee stings, it releases a chemical that attracts other bees. If you can, get into a building or closed vehicle. Hope that helps
