Between 2 events of blood donations the minimum gap should be atleast 3months. Because the volume you donate is replenished in the body through several mechanism and it takes in avg. 3months of time. In that calculation, theoretically a person can donate 4times a year. But it is not practically advisable. Suppose you've donated 4times a year, then you have an accident or there has been an emergency where you need to donate blood. How will you do it then? you will be too weak. Do you get my point? so in practical life donating twice a year would be a smart way of donating blood, weighing b/w the advantages and disadvantages.
