I have been suffering for dry cough at least 4 months, except cough there is no other problem. At first I visit a doctor in my hometown, he gave me two tests (chest x ray, CBC,esr, absolute eosinophil count) and some medicine. My chest x ray and blood reports are normal, but I have slightly high esr. But my cough doesn't go away totally with those medicine. After that I visit another doctor, he gave antibiotic and cough syrup. The cough go away from my body for two month. Then the cough come back after 2 month, I visited the same doctor, he gave me antibiotic and tablets. After taking this medicine, the dry cough is almost cured, but after finishing the medicine the cough doesn't go totally. The intensity of cough is very less, but it present in my body. Pls give advice or solution of my problem.

1. Do a complete blood examination like CBC, ESR, Mantoux test, X ray chest, Sputum examination for AFB (3 samples) 2. Consult Chest physician with report. 3 Do warm saline gurgling 3-4 times daily 4. Avoid smoking if you smoke 5.If all the test reports are normal, it could be due to allergy. Do an allergy test after consulting Allergist/Immunologist and follow the advice and treatment.
