About Metron 200 MG Syrup

Metron 200 MG Syrup is antibacterial and antifungal which is used to cure inflammatory diseases, endocarditis, dracunculiasis, giardiasis, trichomoniasis and amebiasis. It treats certain parasitic and bacterial infections of the vagina, respiratory tract, skin and joints. This medication is sold under the trade name of Flagyl and Flagyl ER.

There are certain side effects of this medication which includes dizziness, headache, upset stomach, abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, reduced appetite, either diarrhea or constipation, blurred vision, clouded thoughts, fever, irritability, aggression, depression, difficulty speaking and breathing, skin rash or redness, a burning sensation, blisters, sore throat, darkening of the urine, rapid or irregular heartbeat and mouth ulcers to name a few.

Pregnant women, breastfeeding women or if you are planning to conceive then you must not take Metron 200 MG Syrup. This medication is also available in capsule and tablet form. The dosage will be prescribed by your doctor determining your age, gender, overall health and the severity of your condition. In case of drug overdose, seek medical attention immediately.

    What are the uses of Metron 200 MG Syrup

    • Amebiasis

      Metron 200 MG Syrup is used in the amebiasis which is a parasitic infection that affects the intestine and amebic liver abscess caused by Entamoeba histolytica.

    • Trichomoniasis

      Metron 200 MG Syrup treats trichomoniasis which is a sexually transmitted disease caused by Trichomonas vaginalis.

    • Bacterial Vaginosis

      Metron 200 MG Syrup helps in treating overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina caused by Lactobacillus species.

    • Bacterial Infections

      Metron 200 MG Syrup treats the infections caused by bacteria in blood, lungs, genital areas caused by Bacteroides fragilis and Clostridium species.

    • Surgical Prophylaxis

      Metron 200 MG Syrup helps in treating infections that may cause after surgery.

    Metron 200 MG Syrup belongs to the class anthelmintics. It enters into the organism and forms the free radical. Thus, the free radical and the altered molecule will interfere with the DNA synthesis and stops the growth of the organism.

        Ethanol

        Consumption of alcohol is not recommended in patients with Metron 200 MG Syrup. Any symptoms of the fast heartbeat, warmth, headache, and breathing difficulty should be reported to the doctor.

        Warfarin

        Metron 200 MG Syrup may increase the concentration of warfarin and increase the risk of bleeding. Inform the doctor if you have any bleeding disorder. Any symptoms of unusual bleeding, blood in stools, headache, and dizziness should be reported to the doctor. An alternate class of medicine should be considered based on the clinical condition.

        Ethinyl Estradiol

        The desired effect of contraceptive pills will not be achieved if these medicines are taken together. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement of the medicine should be made under the doctor's supervision.

        Atorvastatin

        These medicines may increase the risk of nerve damage if given together. Any symptoms of numbness, tingling or burning sensation in feet, hands should be informed to the doctor. An alternate medicine should be considered based on the clinical condition.

        Disulfiram

        Metron 200 MG Syrup is not recommended in patients receiving disulfiram due to the risk of confusion and psychotic symptoms. Inform the doctor if you are receiving these medications. Any symptoms of change in behavior, irritation, and altered coordination should be reported to the doctor.
