How To Avoid Winter Weight Gain

Believe me, it's so easy to pile up the kilos during winter…courtesy comforting fried foods (primarily paranthas/परांठा), sugar laden tea or coffee and even the tempting gur-gachak (गुड़गचक) and mom’s pinnies (पिन्नी).


 

It’s the perfect time to think about wise food choices and portion control. Winter binging may easily cost you a weight gain of three to five kilos. The main reasons for weight gain are less physical activity during winter and of course increased consumption of heavier foods.


 

Tips to prevent winter weight gain:

 

1. Get enough sun-shine

A short pre or post lunch-time walk can provide sunlight which is good for your vitamin D status.


 

2. Limit fatty foods

Foods such as fried snacks, puddings, pinnies and chocolates can be limited to just once or twice a week.


 

3. Fill yourself up with fiber

Fill your plate or tiffin with lots of filling vegetableshave soup before your dinneradd oats, barley and dals (दाल) to help keep you fuller for longer.


 

4. Don’t skip workouts

Don’t skip the gym. Fix days for workouts and try to follow it as well.


 

5. Weigh yourself every day

Get on the scale frequently to make you conscious if you are putting on weight. Maintain record of weight and inches as well.


 

6. Indulge in healthy drinking

Have at least 2-3 cups of green tea or green coffee. Have light soups and broths.

Change your shampo into a baby shampoo. Avoid iodized salt. There are so mny cause of hair loss. Thyroid problem is one of them. There are soo many drugs in homoeopathy. You can try it.

Thanks for the query. Firstly understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. Eat meals at frequent intervals. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Even if you were to take medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal.

Hi lybrate-user I suggest you easy method of weight gain just follow it for year you will gain weigh defiantly 1. Start exercise regularly for 3 month and then after 3 month leave it for 3 month at the time of exercise your diet will increase but same diet continue after 3 month when you stop exercise so thats why your weight will increase automatically now we discus about diet 2. Take dates with milk in the morning breakfast 3. Triphala kadha 4 tsp beore lunch and dinner 4. Amala juice 4 tsp + 2tsp sugar + 2tsp honey in the morning empty stomach this take for 1.5 month only your weight gain will take definitely note=avoid over eating.

Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. b. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. c. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. d. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. e. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. f. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. g. Do not bath with cold water. Use slightly luke warm water instead. This helps open up the pores in your skin and protect is as well. Uae is famous for dry fruits. Have lots of them. Soft dates (5), almonds (5) and raisins (5). Soak them overnight in milk. Have it the next day in empty stomach. Eat food at the right time every day. Include proteins in your diet - pulses, sprouts, eggs, cheese are all rich in protein. I know you work long hours. But try to include a exercise regime of half an hour in your daily routine. Regarding hair fall, use a anti hair fall ayurvedic oil. Apply the luke warm oil to your scalp. Massage it gently with fingertips. Wash it off after an hour. Do this everyday. You can also keep the oil on overnight if it suits you however, if things do not improve in two months despite following the above recommendations, then visit a doctor in person.

The first thing you have to do is to develop a positive attitude towards your goal. You need to understand that transforming your physique is going to take a lot of time. These things don't work that easily. It's going to take a lot of hard work and consistency. In order to grow your muscles, first rule is to lift weights and lift heavy. Lifting heavy weights is the only way to gain vascularity. Your hands will grow in size. The second thing that you have to keep in mind is your diet. Eat 6 calorie dense diet in a day and each meal of yours should have protein included. Eating bolied chicken and fish will give you lots of good quality protein.

To gain weight in healthy way, consume balanced diet with more protein rich foods to build muscles. Since your weight is less, the amount of protein you have to take is 1 to 2 gm protein / kg of ideal weight. You can include sprouts, milk & milk products also in your diet. Hello. It seems she had accelerated hypertension because of which she was hospitalised. To control accelerated bp, give injectables including diuretics, which cause reduction in bp soon and frequent urination. On discharge injectable drugs are shifted to oral. Do check her bp at home even, because diuretics tend to cause dehydration and fall in blood preesure more during summers. If this is so, do consult your physician. Some orthopedic medicines include analgesics which cause gastritis, do take it after meals and antacids along.

I play football 1 month ago o started to have pain in my right knee, I used spray and balm. Now my pain is gone, but when I move my foot backwards and put bring it back down, I feel a locking under the knee cap and both the sides of the knee cap. Please take balance diet. A glass of milk and banana in morning. A glass of mixed fruit juice in evening. Maintain a routine of your life style. Take alfalfa q 10 drops twice daily for next 2 weeks and report weekly. No taking supplement is not advisable until you are in a position to take food orally.
