I am 33 year old woman and I have gum bleeding at the time of brushing and have a tooth ache also.
Kindly get scaling done and use gum paint twice daily for 15 days. Kindly get an x-ray done of the tooth having pain. May be you will have to get root canal treatment done followed by a crown or cap. Till then you can take a pain killer like tab ketorol dt 2 tablets dissolved in water. Brush your teeth twice daily using correct brushing technique to maintain your oral hygiene.

My basic problem is rumination about past. I am very emotional and presently mentally attached with a person since 4 yrs. How do I get rid of that at mental level.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd

My basic problem is rumination about past. I am very emotional and presently mentally attached with a person since 4 ...
The past should be our teacher. In other words, we must learn from the past and then move on. If you indulge too much into the past you will tend to feel angry and sad. But if you look back and learn lessons, it is worth all the trouble. Being emotional will make you attached to someone else as a dependency factor. So if you meet with a counselor and learn to deal with your emotions in particular, you will be fine i.e. Expressing them appropriately. You must go and meet with a counselor immediately and if that person advises that you meet with a doctor you must do so and cooperate to your utmost. Please visit these professionals along with your parents. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do calisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

Yes, sometimes suicide runs in families. If there is depression, then there could be suicide drives not too far behind. You must take double precautions knowing the history of the family. The genetic factor is pretty strong in you. But not everything is lost, if you cooperate, with both counseling and medication. If you went for counseling too a lot can be done and resolved. So apart from the medication you need the help of a counselor who will equip you with coping skills and techniques to handle the daily pressures in life, including meeting and socializing with people. You can also speak about the recent developments and find a way of sorting those out too, everyday. Relying only on the chemical intervention is grossly insufficient. By just popping in pills how do you hope to develop skills and tools to manage life?! You can follow these simple rules too: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. Antioxidants And Their Delicious Sources

Antioxidants: What are they?

Antioxidants are free radical scavengers known to enhance our immunity. We know that fruits and vegetables with vibrant colors are great sources of antioxidants. Many times we wish that foods that taste delicious were as healthy as these fruits and veggies. Here is something to cheer you up. The foods listed below are not only tasty but also rich in antioxidants.

Antioxidants and their sources:

  • Eggs: Egg yolk contains an antioxidants called “lutein”. Lutein is known to prevent muscular degeneration and cataracts. Though the lutein content in yolk is lesser than the lutein content of the green leafy veggies, but according to some studies the lutein from yolk is more effectively absorbed due to the fat content of the yolk.
  • Tinned beans: Tinned beans contains phytochemicals. Phytochemicals repair damaged dna and also neutralize free radicals. Small red beans, dark kidney beans and black beans are rich in antioxidants. You can now enjoy your baked beans with a touch of health.
  • Whole grain pasta/noodles: These whole grain dishes contain polyphenols. Polyphenols are strong anti-cancerous elements. Whole grain pasta and noodles contain 3 to 4 times more antioxidants than the regular ones. In combination to antioxidants these foods also contain good amount of fiber that help in regulating cholesterol levels.
  • Yogurt: There is an additional health benefit to this yummy delight. Although it does not directly contain any antioxidants, it does contain riboflavin which enhances or promotes the activity of antioxidants glutathione. Riboflavin being a water soluble vitamin b, it easily flushes out of the body. You need to consume yogurt on a daily basis to be benefited.
  • Organic milk: Organic milk is the milk obtained from cows that feed on organic food. The antioxidant value of this milk is 40 to 50 times greater than the cows raised in a conventional manner. Antioxidants like vitamin e, lutein and beta carotene are present in it. Organic cheese and butter are other options you may choose.
  • Popcorn: Popcorn is not only a fast and favorite snack, but it also is good in its fiber and antioxidant content. A study carried out by the university of scranton revealed that the whole grain snack foods such as popcorn have surprisingly high levels of polyphenols which have anti-cancerous properties.
  • Natural sweeteners: Natural sweeteners like honey, maple syrup, molasses, brown sugar contain good amount of anti oxidants. Darker the color of honey, greater is its antioxidant content. The non-commercial varieties of honey contain poly phenol. Adding these natural sweeteners in your dessert instead of table sugar does have some added benefit.
  • Canola oil: Canola oil contains alpha-tocopherol. Alpha-tocopherol prevents the oxidation of bad cholesterol (ldl), preventing the release of free radicals. No wonder canola oil is considered to be heart-healthy oil.

Planer faciaitis

BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Pune
Planter faciaitis is one of the most common problem now days. In most of the cases with medicines pain reduce & subsides temporarily but it reoccurs. Many times pain is very severe & disabling. Medications, cold pack, silicon cushion & if nothing works then local steroid injection. But most of the cases even after steroid injections it is not cured completely. In all these cases we are missing most importing aspect of this management that is corrective orthotics. It is very important to understand the mechanism of plantarfascitis & plan treatment accordingly.

What is plantar fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis (plantar fasciosis) is inflammation of the plantar fascia. The plantar fascia is a strong bowstring-like ligament that runs from the calcaneum (heel bone) to the tip of the foot. When the plantar fasciia is stretched too far its soft tissue fibers become inflamed, usually where it attaches to the heel bone. Sometimes the problem may occur in the middle of the foot. The patient experiences pain under the foot, especially after long periods of rest. If inflammation persists for longer duration it can lead to calcaneal spur.

Causes: plantarfascitis is not usually caused by a single injury, such as a twist or fall, but rather the result of repetitive stress and pounding of the heel. Still following factors play important role in increasing severity of plantarfascitis.

Arch type: flat feet, high arch or in between
Footwear: wearing too flat or too high heel footwear
Lifestyle: continuous standing, walking or running
Body weight: overweight results in more stress on plantar fascia
Osteoporosis: weak bones will aggravate pain more
Diagnosis:

Podiatrist /foot doctor is the right person to diagnose & treat heel pain. Assessment should include detailed history, lifestyle evaluation, assessment of foot arch & alignment of all proximal joints, gait analysis etc. The real skill is to identify the cause of the condition and then establish the correct treatment plan.

Treatment:

Rest: temporary rest is important to allow plantarfascia to heal
Cold pack: helps to reduce inflammation. Recommended 3-4 times a day, 20 minutes each time (not recommended for diabetic patient)
Right orthotics: to support plantarfascia & correct faulty alignment
Supportive shoes: orthotics with proper supportive shoe gives long term relief
Exercises:
Generally higher arched feet require a strict stretching program and flat feet require a gradual strengthening program and more support. One should not do stretching in acute pain.

What to avoid:

Barefeet walking on hard surfaces
Wearing too flat or too high heeled footwear
Heel cushions: silicone or foam heel cushions commonly available from pharmacies do nothing to actually cure this condition and at best provide temporary comfort.

I am 23 year old man and I am suffering from dental problem which tooth paste should I use.
Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Changing the toothbrush alone donot keeps your teeth clean. All toothpaste have nearly similar ingredients like Abrasives, Fluorides, Surfactants, Antibacterial agents, Flavourants, Remineralizers, Fluoride, Diethylene glycol, Triclosan etc. Only the wrong brushing technique that we follow harms our teeth and gums. So consult your dentist, learn proper brushing technique, Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush to protect your teeth and gums from plaque and calculus. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke.

Kidney stones treatment depends on the types and size of stone, most kidney stones won't require invasive treatment. You may be able to pass a small stone by: drinking water. Drinking as much as 2 to 3 quarts (1.9 to 2.8 liters) a day may help flush out your urinary system. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, drink enough fluid mostly water to produce clear or nearly clear urine. Pain relievers. Passing a small stone can cause some discomfort. To relieve mild pain, according to your medical history I may prescribe pain relievers such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen or naproxen sodium. Medical therapy. I am a doctor and renal (kidney) dietitian who will aslo prescribe a customized diet plan and medications to help pass your kidney stone quickly and with less pain. Do reply back for private consultation for a detailed treatment plan including dietary therapy.

Hello my name is shivam sir I want to lose my fat Sir please advise me best health tips to lose my fat.
Hello Lybrate user, I would suggest you to follow a diet rich in proteins, eating proteins in every meal will help you boost metabolism as well as help you in weight loss. Along with this you also need to incorporate foods rich in fiber as this also helps you cut fat from the body and help you in weight reduction as well as improves digestion. Basically you need to cut down on calories from simple carbohydrate foods and consume calories from complex carbohydrate foods, proteins and fiber. Drink lots of water throughout the day helps in improving the metabolism and also cuts fat from the body ultimately leading to weight loss. Also do some exercise for at least 30 mins a day to loose weight faster. Good luck!
