If you are suffering from excessive stress, it is likely that your physical and emotional health may be affected. Your sexual life too is affected due to stress. Too much of stress leaves you physically tired and exhausted. Because of this, you will not have enough energy to have sex. Moreover, when you are stressed out about some issue, your libido gets affected, and you might not have any interest in having sex.

Effects of stress on your sexual life

  1. Stress results in a negative body image. The hormones which are associated with stress may impact metabolism. With the increase in the production of these stress hormones, you may feel sluggish and gain weight, thereby providing a negative body image due to which you might not have the desire to indulge in sexual activity. Stress causes lowered self-esteem which results in less sex.
  2. Stress results in reduced libido. The hormones associated with stress are required by the body in small amounts, but the overproduction of these hormones can suppress sexual hormones, leading to decreased libido.
  3. Extreme stress may affect personal relationships and cause conflicts between a couple. This will result in rare sexual activity as proper communication between a couple gets reduced.

Hi my dear friend you are assuming things. Always think before you talk. I think there is a problem with your understanding things. Your interpretation of things are wrong. My friend act slowly but positively. I will prescribe you some flower remedy available in all homoeopathy shops. Mix 7 drops of cerato + 7 drops of gentian +7 drops of aspen + 7 drops of larch + 7 drops of star of bethlehem + 7 drops of schleranthus. Mix these with 50 ml water and take every 12 hours for 2 months. You have to develop confidence and strong will power in yourself. Ok do not worry. Everything will be all right.

I want to stop smoking habit I smoke 3-4 cigarettes a day. I tried nicotex chewing gum but, it doesn't helped me more. I think my sexual life is hampering because of it. And, i also drink 60 to 80 ml alcohol a day. Please suggest me. How can I stop smoking and improve my sexual life? And is there any effect of drinking also.

Dear lybrate-user, Congratulations for deciding to quit smoking and alcohol. Nicotex is only a replacement for withdrawal symptoms of cigarettes, like headache, irritability, memory lapses, less concentration, increased appetite, etc. If you don't have any withdrawal symptoms, there is no need to use nicotex. Please continue to motivate yourself on giving up smoking at least for 12 -24 weeks. Then the craving will reduce. Even now, you can observe the craving going away like a passing cloud. Wait for it without smoking. Both alcohol and nicotine affect sex life. It is better to stop both and start enjoying sex life. There can be other causes for sexual dysfunction. You can consult a psychiatrist or sexologist for diagnosis and treatment. All the best.

Anxiety disorders are a category of mental disorders characterized by feelings of anxiety and fear, where anxiety is a worry about future events and fear is a reaction to current events.
