Hi firstly, start doing surya namaskar in morning and start eating triphla chooran (natural medicine) in morning empty stomach with luke warm water. Start a fruit dieting every alternative day, means you have to eat fruits every alternative days & normal fruit every other alternative days. Avoid late night dinners and try to eat nothing after sunset. Sit in vajrasana after every meal you eat for 10 minutes. Walk atleast 30 min in morning.

In the past 2 1/2 months I have gained at 14 to 15 pounds. I have yet to see the weight that I have gained. I wanted to know why the weight that I gained isn't showing. I should be able to see 15 pounds because that is allot of weight to gain. I wanted to know why is it taking so long for the weight that I gained to show. Diet, exercise, and behavioral modification should be included in all obesity management approaches for body mass index (bmi) of 25 kg/m 2 or higher. Other tools, such as pharmacotherapy for bmi of 27 kg/m 2 or higher with comorbidity or bmi over 30 kg/m2 and bariatric surgery for bmi of 35 kg/m2 with comorbidity or bmi over 40 kg/m 2, should be used as adjuncts to behavioral modification to reduce food intake and increase physical activity when this is possible. Do treadmill for at least 30-45 min daily. Many obese people are advised to follow a juice diet or the juice fast for a period of a week or so, so that they can shed the excess extra pounds faster. Health and nutrition experts advise people to consume fresh fruit or vegetable juice for obesity. Take tea/gree tea in evening/morning not in day time.

For weight reduce in particular organ, excersice of that organ is best. Diet & medicine can affect on whole body. So start abdomen excersice. One more thing you can do it, use barley flour & triphala powder. Use it for massage on abdomen before going to bath I am giving simple general tips * take luke warm water only *take turmeric before food * avoid day sleep * use cow ghee and milk *take buttermilk, avoid curd. * take ajvayan & jeera 10gm after each meal.

Before going for a diet Plan ask your doctor about the medications and how to adjust if you change your diet. Instead of a strict diet plan why not voluntarily reduce the amount of food you eat in small bits so that you will not face hypoglycaemia (low glucose levels ). The general rules of diabetic diet is still important. What is important is increase your activity level slowly and studily along with diet. It takes time, so be patient and reduce weight within your comfort level under the guidance of your doctor.

We are planning to buy a weight loss exercise machine for reducing the fat. Please help us to choose the right machine considering my mother (the knee pain patient). She is about 5 ft height and 97 kg weight. My choice is electronic treadmill. Will it be a right choice? Please share your suggestions.

To lose weight with osteoarthritic knee or injured knee is difficult and should be done keeping in mind that injuries to knee should not be aggravated by exercises. Treadmill, squats, jogging and running are high impact workouts on knee and should be avoided. Following exercises can be done with low impact on knees. 1. Swimming doesnt exert stress on knee joint and burns fat if done at a stretch for 20 mins. 2. Strength training in form of bench press, shoulder press and abdominal exercises, triceps and biceps exercises can be done. 3. Walking on soft ground or soil as in garden can be done. In fact warm up before exercises in such patients can be done by a gentle walk. Avoid treadmill walk. 4. For home exercise machines, you can consider options like rowing machines, stationary cycle, elliptical machines. When using a cycle do not use on steep slopes or modes. 5. Along with exercise also use dietary modification in form of low calorie, protein rich diet to lose weight.

Do you have any other symptoms. Please get your thyroid profile checked at the earliest. As it is the commonest cause of weight gain. Do have an active lifestyle. Do not starve your body. Eat regular small meals.
