MBBS
General Physician,
Hello, madam. I can certainly understand your concerns. Yes, hepc is largely infectious. The virus is largely found in the body fluids particularly blood. But nevertheless, the overall risk of contracting the disease is very low. Everyday contact is not risky" the transmission rate between people in a household is probably just a little above zero" so follow these common precautions to prevent acquiring any accidental infection. 1. Don't share razors, toothbrushes, nail clippers, or anything else that could have your blood on it. 2. Cover any open wounds or sores with bandages. 3. Carefully dispose of tampons, sanitary napkins, tissues, used bandages, and anything else that might have your blood on it. 4. At the very least, don't share needles or equipment with anyone else. 5. Don't donate blood, organs, tissue, or semen. Post your further queries if any. Thank you.
