I have a question that a patient with diabetes having stroke what is the connection between diabetes n stroke?

I have a question that a patient with diabetes having stroke what is the connection between diabetes n stroke?
Our bodies need a hormone called insulin to turn sugar (from our food) into energy. If you have type 1 diabetes, your body does not produce insulin. If you have type 2 diabetes, your body does not make enough insulin. This means your body has difficulty absorbing the sugars from food. If diabetes is left untreated or uncontrolled it increases the risk of vascular disease (disease of the blood vessels). This is when your artery walls become hard and narrow. This increases the risk of stroke, particularly ischaemic stroke. People with diabetes are also more likely to have high blood pressure. This can also increase your risk of further strokes. If you have diabetes it is important to maintain healthy blood sugar levels to reduce your risk of having a stroke or second stroke.

Hi, How long have you been taking alcohol? First and foremost I would advise you to restrict alcohol intake and simultaneously meet a gastro-intestinal (GI) specialist, in person, with no further delay. He or she would be able to clinically examine you properly and may require you to go through a few diagnostics including a liver function test and USG abdomen as deems appropriate. You may also expect a referral to a neuro physician for further clinical evaluation should it require. Your ECG report being normal is indicative of no issues as such on your cardiac front. Pain in your sternum could be a referred pain owing to gastritis or issues, if any, with your liver. However, to be on the safer side, a cardiologist consultation would rule out any issues with your heart as well. As regards your gastritis issue, your GI specialist who you meet in person, shall also advise appropriately in this regard. At the same time, however, it is important that your diet and lifestyle be streamlined. You need to take more of wheat grain cereals, fresh fruits & leafy greens and ensure that the food is well cooked, bland yet tasty & easily digestible. Avoid hot, chilly, spicy & oily & greasy hard to digest foods. Also, restrict intake of tea, coffee and other high calorie foods like carbonated sugary drinks, packaged juices, sweets, pastries et al. It is good to take smaller amounts of food in regular intervals rather than taking three large meals. Sitting in ?Vajrasana? post every meal, helps digest better. Drink plenty of fluids, at least 8 ? 10 glasses of water daily and avoid taking water intermittently while eating as this will hamper effective digestion of food. Brisk walk for at least 30 to 45 minutes, 5 to 6 days a week, unless you have any other health issue or advised otherwise by your doc. Amla, ginger, mint, tulsi, ripe banana, cold milk etc also help arrest acidity & associated issues including gastritis. At the same time, you must stay relaxed and de-stress yourself through either prayer, yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercises, socializing etc all. Hope this helps. All the very best.

How can I increase my penis size and thickness of my penis? Compare to my friends my penis is small. Please help me.

How can I increase my penis size and thickness of my penis? Compare to my friends my penis is small. Please help me.
Penis size varies from person to person even of same age and body proportions. As long as the length of penis satisfies minimum required proportions it should be okay. Length of the penis be at least 3inches or more when erect, if you satisy that then it's good enough for any female sexual partner since only 4cms of outer vagina is sensitive to touch and sexual excitement.

I am suffering from bowel problem past 4 years. Last year I was diagnosed rectal ulcer. My stool is acidic yet normally thick but I feel ichy and hives after motions daily. Also there is some mucus secretion along with stool. I don't feel any abdominal pain or cramp. Yet there is discomfort because of fullness. I take natural laxatives in a routine. What possibly could it be. I am just 26 years old.

General Physician,
Hello sir, Please tell remedies for weak penis and pelvic area pain (area where we wear belts)
Do not use sexual stimulants prior to sexual union. Those may lead to weak erection. 2. Adopt lifestyle changes like cessation of smoking, drinking, stress management through yoga and meditation, maintaining of a healthy body weight through low fat diet and exercises and so on. 3. Consult psychotherapist to overcome depression and guilt feelings. 4. Embrace the power of herbs like butea superba, safed musli and shilajit. You can use herbal sexual enhancers composed of these herbs. Some effective ones are Butea Superba capsules and gel, Mast Mood oil and Booster capsules. 5. Sleep adequately to do away with weak erections.

Mr. lybrate-user, Your blood glucose is not in control. When in control fasting should be closer to 100 mg, after food 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. Mentioned levels are too high. This means either the drugs being taken are not adequate or your diet and exercise are not as needed. You need to re look at the total treatment. Thanks.

Warts on the Penis - What Does This Mean?

MD - General Medicine
Sexologist, Delhi
Warts on the Penis - What Does This Mean?

Most men are very careful about their penis health, and understandably so - the penis is a very sensitive organ, and the manhood a very sensitive area. Ensuring proper penis care means regular washing, using a high-end penis health crème, and checking out the skin on a regular basis to ensure nothing looks different down there. So when a man sees warts on his penis, he will likely be quite concerned, puzzled - or even terribly frightened.

That's why it is so important to understand what it means to have warts, where they come from, and what can be done about it.

Warts on the penis?

Genital warts are one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases, with over 500,000 cases each year. It travels so easily from one person to another because the virus needs only simple skin-to-skin contact. That means that even if a man uses a condom, he might receive or transmit the infection through the touching of other body parts, such as the inner thigh or buttocks.

Warts on the penis are caused by the human papilloma virus, also known as HPV. There are over 100 strains of HPV. Some people might have a virus that causes warts on the feet or hands. Those who have genital warts are usually infected by one of two strains: HPV 6 or HPV 11.

In most cases, these warts are flesh-colored, soft to the touch, and might look a bit like cauliflower. They are usually painless, but they might lead to an itchy penis. They might be here and there all over the penis, or might form one large cluster. They usually show up between six weeks and six months after infection.

What does this mean?

A man who notices warts on his penis should immediately see the doctor. It is important to remember that though the warts might be unsightly or uncomfortable, they are usually not dangerous in and of themselves. It is possible that the warts, when irritated, could lead to open sores or bleeding, and that could lead to easier transmission of disease.

The human body is very good at fighting off the HPV virus. However, some prescriptions can help lessen the look, feel and number of warts, and might encourage faster healing. Warts that don't go away on their own can be removed by freezing, burning or minor surgery.

Keep in mind that when the warts are present, it is very easy to spread them from one person to another. But it is also important to note that warts can be spread even when an active 'outbreak' is not happening. That's why it is so important to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases, understand exactly what strains of HPV are present, and share that information with all sexual partners.

Preventing warts on the penis

It is very important to maintain great penis health, and that means doing what a man can to prevent warts in the first place. A man should always use a condom when with a new sexual partner. Getting the HPV vaccine might reduce the chances of a man contracting warts. He should also not smoke, as smoking seems to increase the risk of contracting HPV, and might make wart outbreaks more frequent or harder to treat.

Finally, a man should always inspect the penis skin carefully as he applies a regular dose of penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). Look for a crème that contains vitamin A, a known anti-bacterial agent, as well as alpha-lipoic acid, which fights against free radicals that can lead to premature aging and thinning of the skin. Great vitamins and nutrients wrapped up in a Shea butter emollient, enhanced with vitamin E, can help the skin look and feel its best.

Is dates good in diabetes can I eat date I have fluctuation in sugar level sometimes 250.
Hi Dates are rich source of fibre, so helps in digestion. It also has many minerals like calcium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, potassium, magnesium and also copper. It has a low glycaemic index and hence is diabetic friendly if taken in the right quantity and frequency. If your blood sugar is 250 only occasionally then I suggest you can have 1 or 2 fresh dates two to three times a week making sure your blood sugars are within the normal range.

For last 1-2 weeks I am getting frequent cramps in my legs. While sleeping also. What to do? Kindly suggest.

Diploma in Anesthesia, MBBS
General Physician, Hyderabad
For last 1-2 weeks I am getting frequent cramps in my legs. While sleeping also. What to do? Kindly suggest.
Common cause for leg cramps is fatigue, vitamin and calcium deficiency and some medial conditions. If you are suffering with any other medical condition come back for proper guidance. Assuming that at your age and with healthy weight you do not have any other medical condition, follow the simple steps of stretching the leg (calf) muscles. Stand with front half of your feet on a step with your heels hanging off the edge. Slowly lower your heels so that they are below the level of the step. Hold for a few seconds before lifting your heels back up to the starting position. Repeat a 15-20 times morning and in the evening. Secondly when you are sitting. Sit Cross Legged either on the sofa or on the floor atleast for 15 minutes or as long as possible when ever you are in sitting posture. To overcome with the deficiency of vitamines take a glass of milk twice a day and plenty of fruits and vegetables in your food. This should give relief for your problem. If you are having any medical condition or for medicines for the cramps come back again. Good luck.

You are most probably suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. In this condition the frequency and urge to go to toilet increases especially just after meals. Ibs can be caused due to many reasons out of which stress is one important cause. When your life and body are stressed, it can lead to ibs. You need to practice deep breathing and relaxation techniques. If your symptoms are not improved, you need to take prescription medication for a period of time. Please consult in private for prescription drugs.
