Greetings, I am an Indian living in Bali. I suffer from a general lack of confidence and self belief. I have also had anxiety attacks as a result and had days where I get bored and stay at home for 1 or 2 days feeling angry or upset. I live alone and have few friends around. I also have days when I am extremely social and make friends easily. Are these symptoms related to depression? Or is the lack of sef belief combined with the alienation causing the stress. Would like to elaborate more. Thank you.

There more to do with culture shock & Alienation as you mentioned. You have insecurity and lack of confidence and self esteem. You need to undergo counselling till you are reassured. You need to do exercise/ keep socializing, Yoga and meditation and relaxation techniques/ Yoga nidra and pranayama and participate in sociocultural events and keep in touch with your root. You undergo self help through CBT. Contact us so that we can guide you.

I basically think of my best friend as inferior to me, because I'm smarter than her, score better, get more attention from guys, have more friends, have more fun than her, which gives me self confidence boost, and I feel better. Now recently, she got proposed by a guy who's proposed me earlier and I rejected, though I have more and better guys hovering over me, still this wasn't a good feeling. I realized that I'm basically comparing myself to her which would be really bad for me in the long run if she ever gets better than me in anything that I consider myself Superior in. So I would be greatly obliged if you kindly advise me how to get over this, and be normal, I really really need help, thank you so much in advance.

Dear user. I can understand. You are YOU. Whatever your behavior today, whatever your body language today are learned from your past experiences and social interactions. Whatever you have learned can be unlearned or over written. This is a continuous process happening throughout your life. I suggest cognitive behavior therapy for you. Take care.

Take healthy food and positive thoughts is a first tips to be followed. And we must do some new habits like spending time in gardening or reading books or jacking or exercise etc.

Hello, You are under weight, need to gain your weight upto 66 kg please. Clonazepam works to calm your nerves hence withdrawal of the same might cause dullness, of course. You should opt certain natural norms to get rid of the said drug, permanently. Go for a walk in the morning to regulate blood circulation to supply oxygen to your brain to control nerves. Go for meditation to reduce stress in order to calm your nerves inorder to produce sound sleep. Tk, plenty of water ro hydrate your body. Your diet be easily digestible on time to avoid gastric disorder that triggers lithargicity & fatigue. Avoid, junkfood,  alcohol & nicotine. Tk, care.

Hi, my father is drunkard he is not able to leave alcohol what treatment we should do to cure that.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Chennai
Alcohol dependence involves intense craving or desire to drink alcohol. People drink for pleasure or rationalize it on external factors like family problems, work tension, etc. They drink continuously, i.e. Almost daily or even weekly once or twice with withdrawal symptoms, tolerance, bodily damage, etc. Due to alcohol they and/ or others are affected significantly. You need to consult a psychiatrist and go for 3 steps of de addiction. 1st is detoxification, when alcohol is stopped and the withdrawal is made smooth with minimal discomfort, 2 nd is maintenance and further deaddiction when the physical problems and psychological state of the individual is maintained and anti-craving drugs started 3 rd rehabilitation, when relapse prevention is the goal, while maintaining deaddiction. All the best.
