One of my family members is suffering from anxiety and depression.
Doctor has prescribed pari-cr 75 mg tablets (paroxetine).
But cost of pari- cr tablets is quite high.
We heard about" pm jan aushaadhi yojna" where generics are being offered.
The scheme has paroxetine -sr tablets of 37.5 strength which are economic too.
So can we switch to the generic option of paroxetine sr for 75 mg dose available under jan aushadhi?
Actually that is patient's main medication which is why we are concerned about efficacy.
Please give us your valuable suggestion.

He completed dual CCST in general adult and geriatric psychiatry and worked as consultant psychiatrist in England for 4 years before moving to Singapore in 2010 where he worked as a senior consultant psychiatrist. He has been instrumental in developing services such as memory clinic and led community mental health teams and inpatient teams. He was faculty member of YLL medical school, Singapore and Asst Adjunct professor with Duke-NUS medical school, Singapore. He had given several talks in conferences, workshops, training programs and public forums. He has had research publications and presentations in Conferences. He has been instrumental in setting up the innovative Arogyaraksha polyclinic and diagnostics, in Yelamanchili which aims to make good quality healthcare accessible to rural population in India.
Dr. Malladi Srinivasa Sastry has conceptualized and conducts Soham Inner Development Workshops. He also conceptualized Soham Inner Development Therapy for individuals therapeutic benefit. Workshops are conducted regularly for public and Soham therapy is offered exclusively at his clinic.
