My eye was red and swell every morning and right eye red ever time please help me.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
My eye was red and swell every morning and right eye red ever time please help me.
Eyes appear red because the vessels at the surface of the white portion of the eye (sclera) become swollen. Vessels may swell due to: • Eye dryness • Too much sun exposure • Dust or other particles in the eye • Allergies • Infection • Injury Eye infections or inflammation can cause redness as well as possible itching, discharge, pain, or vision problems. These may be due to: • Blepharitis: Swelling along the edge of the eyelid. • Conjunctivitis: Swelling or infection of the clear tissue that lines the eyelids and covers the surface of the eye (the conjunctiva). This is often referred to as "pink eye." • Corneal ulcers: Sores on the cornea most often caused by a serious bacterial or viral infection. • Uveitis: Inflammation of the uvea, which includes the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. The cause is most often not known. It may be related to an autoimmune disorder, infection, or exposure to toxins. The type of uveitis that causes the worst red eye is called iritis, in which only the iris is inflamed. Other potential causes of eye redness include: • Colds or allergies . • Acute glaucoma: A sudden increase in eye pressure that is extremely painful and causes serious visual problems. This is a medical emergency. The more common form of glaucoma is chronic and gradual. • Corneal scratches: Injuries caused by sand, dust, or overuse of contact lenses. Sometimes, a bright red spot, called a subconjunctival hemorrhage, will appear on the white of the eye. This often happens after straining or coughing, which causes a broken blood vessel on the surface of the eye. Most often, there is no pain and your vision is normal. It is almost never a serious problem. Because the blood leaks into the conjunctiva, which is clear, you cannot wipe or rinse the blood away. Like a bruise, the red spot will go away within a week or two. So,visit a local eyespecialist if your problem is in routine .The diagnosis of your problem in eyes can only be made by local examination of eyes

There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 17 years so your number will not increase much now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Your skin will be healthy and the face will be bright once you maintain healthy life style and disciplined habits. *. Take nutritious and timely food. *. Avoid fried foods and eat fruits, nuts, pulses, greens, milk and whole grains *. Drinking lots of water is good. Keep hydrated by drinking water and preferring juicy fruits. *. Have timely and adequate sleep. Your body will be fresh after good night sleep. *. Be relaxed and avoid tension *. Daily jogging or such exercise to ensure good blood circulation which helps nutrients reaching the skin and all parts of body. Facial massage will also promote good circulation. *. Don’t expose to hot direct sun. Wear cap, full sleeve shirt and shoes which will protect you from sun. Generally 10 AM to 4 PM is the hottest. Avoid exposure at that time. *. When you apply any cream, sun screen and the like, clean your face at the earliest, so that there will be no adverse action of the chemicals on the delicate skin of face. *For your information, many skin creams (mostly fairness cream brands) are considered harmful and banned by Central Govt, Health ministry during March, 2016. The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) supported the ban. Your skin ‘breaths’ through its pores which are not to be closed for long. *HOMOEOPATHIC medicines are taken internally. Hence, NO DIRECT CONTACT with your delicate and sensitive skin, thereby no problem of skin allergy *Keep hydrated by drinking water and preferring juicy fruits. Your face will look brighter.

Such eyelids swelling are known to recur. To decrease recurrence rate. Ensure you continue treatment for us eye allergies. Don't rub or touch your eyes. Make sure you wash your hands before and after instilling eye drops. Maintain eye hygiene as well. And follow advice of one doctor with whom you r under treatment and followup with as advised. Remember that treatment sometimes is sequential and long term with known recurrences especially in cases of eye allergies.

I have a red eye problem. Little red spot is covered on my face. What should I do now.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
I have a red eye problem. Little red spot is covered on my face. What should I do now.
Redness of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic. (4) raised intraocular pressure: this is a condition known as glaucoma. It is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral (occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5) inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as" uveitis" it is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. Regarding your complains, I would want to know whether the redness is localized to one specific area in the eye or is it diffusely spread throughout the eye? also, do you take medications for any disorders like blood pressure? did you have any recent bout of sneezing/ coughing? all these questions are important because they have a role to play in causing redness in the eye. I feel it would be a better idea to see your eyes once and then decide regarding the treatment modality suitable for you. Let me know if you can get in touch via the video facility offered by lybrate. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care.

This may be due to many factors. Firstly your lashes might be sticking together due to secretions and on cleaning those are removed n you see clearly. Second reason could be fuchs dystrophy in which vision improves not with cleaning but as the day advance vision improves.

Hello dear there are many causes for redness of eyes mainly allergy, infection, inflammation and dry eyes etc. 1. Redness + itching: allergy 2. Redness + pain+ watering + decreased vision: infection 3. Redness + pain: inflammation 4. Redness+ foreign body sensation: dryness if there is only redness then it is normal as slight exposure to dust, temperature or air or eyes may be red in morning. Stress may also cause redness. I usually do not treat when there is only redness, you can 1. Blink a lot 2. Wash eyes with fresh water 3. Cold compresses 4. Use lubricating eyedrop like flogel these measures will help to keep your eyes healthy but it will not have any effect on redness (treating generalredness alone is not necessary also) having said that you should consult local ophthalmologist for proper examination and treatment.
