I have lower back pain for 4 years. I did an MRI. It shows at the end of my spinal cord disk no: L2 it has a thing like jelly between it has ben damaged and skipped out a little bit. It hurts a lot. Some times my left leg becomes little num and .wht is the best treatment for this other than operation. Thanks.

If you have low back pain and sciatica you can undergo intermittent pelvic traction where in your half of your body weight will be added in the electronic traction so that that would help you to reduce the pain, along with Interferential therapy stimulations which would help you to get relieved from the radiating pain. Apply ice for the pain to get subsided immediately. If you cannot go immediately for the physiotherapy treatment. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear Lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear MCR chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back.

: Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise. Hamstring stretching Towel Hamstring Stretch Lie on the back, supporting the thigh with the hand or with a towel wrapped around it.. Slowly straighten the knee until a stretch is felt in the back of the thigh, trying to get the bottom of the foot to face the ceiling, one leg at a time. Hold the position initially for 10 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 to 30 seconds. Seated Hamstring Stretch While sitting at the edge of a chair, straighten one leg in front of the body with the heel on the floor. Then, sit up straight and try pushing the navel towards the thigh without leaning the trunk of the body forwards. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds Repeat 3 times for each leg.

If there is any instability in your elbow region while doing any activity, then that is an indication for mri of your elbow region as it will show us any issues with your elbow ligaments. Also please mention the exact site of elbow pain, is it at the back of your elbow, outer or the inner part because there are different reason for each one. It will be better if you can actually send me a clinical picture taken from your mobile or camera pointing to exact site of pain so that I can see it. Also kindly tell me whether there is any swelling, or any other s/s of inflammation like skin redness or local warmth on touch as well? have you got your uric acid levels done recently? do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Do the cat/cow avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretchingstretch.

Hi, when I climb the stairs I also hear a cracking sound in my knee and if I keep my hand around my knee while sitting then just moving my knee like a rotation it is like a sound or feel like using an machine without oiling it (means its like no friction within my knees). Hi As per your complain and symptoms you suffering from osteoarthritis knee you need do quadriceps exercise for knee. And take hot water formentation.

Grade 1 acl tear will get complete recovery by physiotherapy. Use a hinged knee brace meanwhile which checks hyperextension. Hope this helps.

Take rest for2-3 days. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference? It could be due to muscle cramp. Take one tablet of crocin 500mg sos, Drink plenty of water with ORs/Electral, take rest. If no relief, consult. Take one tablet of Neurobion Forte daily for few days

Dear according to your medications you seems to be diabetic. So you may be suffering from frozen shoulder or age related arthritis of shoulder. Do gentle shoulder mobility exercises. Take care.

Hi, you can follow these advice- 1. Rest on bed which is not too hard and not too soft, 2. While lying on back, keep pillow under the knees. 3. While side lying, keep pillow between the knees. 4. Advice him to take rest as much as he can 5. Add dairy products and calcium components in meal. 6. Avoid prolong siiting. Send me x-ray report and other investigation report if available. It will help me to diagnose the route cause of the pain. Thanks.
