Hello lybrate user, - 1st look at what is any giving you this pain. By avoiding that cause you will be better - change your posture of sitting while studying or working or traveling. - do some exercises which relax your bones and muscles. - do pranayama to reduce the stress which in turn reduce your headache - apply ksheerabala taila to the back to strengthen - take avipattikara churna 1spoon with warm water twice a day do it for 15days. If you are pregnant obviously you will have generalized pain due to the fact that the foetus grows and it throws more pressure in the lower back and this is the major cause for back pain in the first trimester of pregnancy. It looks like you are anaemic. If you have back pain after you sit for long hours then it is due to your haemoglobin levels as it is important to check that. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. Pain in the foot, ankle and stiffness of the lower leg is due to constant pain and that makes the leg to have less blood circulation due to less movements and that becomes rigid for which doing hot water fermentation will help and also MCR chappals can be used to feel relaxed and comfortable along with Lumbosacral belt to improve the abdominal muscle tone

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

You might be prone to hamstring thightness. Practise this:- roll a towel and place below the knee and press it by knee joint. Dont allow your leg moving here and there when you practise this. Consume vegetables and nuts.

Consult a physiotherapist if you have experienced a fall recently and the discomfort caused due to it has not subsided.

My friend is 29 years old. She gets frequent pain in her upper back, lower back and hip. We have shown her to many doctors and some of them detected it as firbromylgia however others said its spondylitis. He also feel down once and the coccyx (tail bone) was injured badly. Waking up in morning is very difficult for her as she faints frequently in the morning and some time in day time also. Please suggest the best treatment for this. Bhujang asana? lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to have a persistent back pain as a health issue. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do streching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still dont get relief consult physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation.

Lybrate-user ji you did not mentioned weight of your father. If he is overweight ge need to reduce it. Use only western toilt nd not indian toilet. Do not use staircase. Do not bend your knee more than 90 degree.

Yes dear he can continue with it and you can also do fomentation with it. It will be helping hand. Do dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling.
