I have been a diabetes patient for a while. But my recent sugar levels were normal. Except, the TMT test shows positive with 11.2 METs. They say I require a CAG, but I feel no observable symptoms in the body. Is it necessary to go for the CAG?

No medical/scientific study has indicated that masturbation leads to ill-health or weakness in the body. All in all it's a myth that masturbation is bad for health. Diabetes also has nothing to do with it.

Following are the tips to prevent onset/or control diabetes 1-Losing Extra Weight:-The most significant thing which can make a big difference to your health is to lose your extra weight. This will not only lower your blood pressure but also helps lowering your cholesterol too. For woman: waist of 80 cm or more & for man: waist of 90 cm or more are at risk 2- Constant and regular food timings :-the timings at which you have your meals should be set fixed and at regular intervals each day. This will considerably improve your metabolic activity and helps reducing your weight. 3- Split your meals and eating in moderate amount:-Splitting your meals into 3-4 times per day (including snacks)and eating in fair and consistent amount , improves your metabolic rate as the food u take is not concentrated at one time. 4- No long Gaps and skipping of meals:-There should be no long gaps between meals. Never miss out breakfast. 5- No overeating:-Never eat in a bulk on one time .Try to have moderate amount of food each time u eat. It will help maintain your blood sugar at a healthy level and won’t let it to fluctuate. Add whole grain foods in your diet. Avoid carbohydrates like white bread, pasta, pizza , candies, and snacks .Instead include high-fiber carbohydrates like wheat bran, flaxseed and methi seeds to your wheat flour. This will increase fibre in your diet. 10-Drink enough fluids:-Keep your body well hydrated. Probably your diet is not proper.you need to reschedule your timings and control on the portion size of food.take small frequent meals with a watch on the carbohydrate content of the meal.u need to meet a Dietician for the same. If the diet is unable to control the sugars, then medicine may become necessary

At this young age and of an athletic, you can be fittest person if you decide to switch to herbal support of DM. I will not say to stop your current med now. Slowly when you improve, your potential side effects will start drifting away. Otherwise best of allopathic med can not stop side effects of DM and anti DM drugs. Ask who are suufering from decades. This does not mean that allopathic is bad. Its relevant for acute and emergent cases. But lifestyle improvement is poosible with herbs.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. For diabetes only treatment that really matters is taking appropriate modern drugs which either promote insulin secretion from Iselets of Langerhans Beta cells, or reduce insulin resistance, or reduce glucose absorption itself or take insulin injections to supplement lack of insulin in the body. All other so called remedies make a lot of unsubstantiated claims, but nothing really works. My suggestion is if you are having well controlled blood glucose levels then please continue with your current treatment. Thanks.

Mr Vinay, By consuming sweets or sugar a person does not get diabetes. However, if you have a family history of diabetes and have excess weight, central obesity (waist more than 90 cms), having an inactive lifestyle, also habituated to alcohol or smoking, then there is a possibility of getting diabetes type 2. So if you any of the above things it is better to be cautious. To keep free from T2DM, adapt a healthy lifestyle.

Mr.lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Depending upon the blood glucose levels and HbA1c%, patients weight and height, drugs have o be decided. There are many options available both oral as well as Injectable including Insulin. As regards children getting diabetes, if one of the parent has diabetes then 50 % chance of diabetes in children and both parents are diabetic then chance is over 75 to 80%. But T2 DM is a preventable disease. By adapting modified lifestyle one can prevent it. Thanks.
