Hello, Some primary headaches can be triggered by lifestyle factors, including: Alcohol, particularly red wine Certain foods, such as processed meats that contain nitrates Changes in sleep or lack of sleep Poor posture Skipped meals Stress Insufficient sleep or rest Overexertion Nutritional deficiencies A secondary headache is a symptom of a disease that can activate the pain-sensitive nerves of the head. Any number of conditions — varying greatly in severity — may cause secondary headaches. Get your blood pressure checked, make a chart. Let me know about the readings, will give you medication accordingly. Also, get eyes tested as headache over the eyebrows is related to your weak eyesight or weak eye muscles. Medication: Meantime, can start with homoeopathic medicine - Bakson's Mig-Aid tablet/ after every 2 hours.

Arthritis - What Type Of Diet Must You Follow?

The inflammation of joint which causes a loss of mobility, pain and stiffness are known as arthritis. Arthritis is a very common musculoskeletal condition that affects both men and women. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis and damages the patient’s cartilage and bones. Although this disease cannot be treated and cured, a few changes to your diet can help slow down the wear and tear process and can help alleviate the pain associated with it.

Here are a few food items you should begin including in your diet.

  1. Green teaGreen tea is rich in a natural antioxidant known as epigallocatechin 3 gallate. This is not found in most other teas. This antioxidant helps fight toxins in the body and reduces the production of inflammatory chemicals associated with arthritis. It is also said to have the ability to prevent the cartilage damage. Green tea also aids in weight loss which in turn reduces the pressure on joints and lowers pain.
  2. Omega 3 fats: Not all fats are unhealthy. Omega 3 fats help lower the production of enzymes responsible for cartilage erosion. It also helps strengthen bones and joints and reduces joint swelling and stiffness. Omega 3 fats are also associated with increasing energy levels and can help fight fatigue. Some of the foods rich in this fat are sardines, salmon, flaxseeds and walnuts.
  3. Anthocyanins: This is a potent antioxidant responsible for the reddish colour of fruits and vegetables such as cherries, strawberries, black grapes, plums and eggplant. By lowering the production of inflammatory chemicals, this antioxidant helps reduce inflammation in the joints. It is also rich in vitamin C and strengthens the connective tissue in the body.
  4. Turmeric and gingerThese spices are rich in certain phytonutrients that have an anti-inflammatory effect. They can also help relieve pain associated with arthritis. While turmeric is usually used in its dry and powdered form, ginger is best used when fresh. To benefit from it, grate a little fresh ginger into your tea or add it to your salad dressings.
  5. Vitamin C: Vitamin C not only helps fight arthritis, it can also prevent osteoarthritis. This is because vitamin C is largely responsible for collagen production which is a major component of cartilage. However, high doses may aggravate the symptoms of this disease and hence it is best to choose a dietary source of vitamin C rather than supplements. Citrus fruits, bell peppers, broccoli, pineapple etc are a few fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamin C.

9 Amazing Facts About Arthritis!

Arthritis is a disease that affects the joints, muscles and soft tissues, which cause stiffness, disability and pain. It is one of the complex conditions and has also been discovered in the remains of people living more than 500,000 years ago.

Although it is usually found in people above 50 years, in rare cases, it can affect younger generations as well. The three most common forms are osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. The symptoms of some arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis, include the following:

These symptoms typically last more than two weeks.

Few facts about arthritis
Most people, even though diagnosed with arthritis, are unaware of the following facts:

  1. Snakes, bees, and ants: After years of treatment, some people have turned to specific natural therapies that come from snakes, bees and ants. As per a study by researchers in Brazil, bee sting venom helps reduce the symptoms of arthritis.
  2. Gout is a form of arthritis: Repeated flare-ups, pain and swelling are the result of uric acid, built around the joints. This can be due to genetic predisposition, some diseases and consumption of excess meat, seafood, fructose-sweetened drinks or alcohol. The bunion joint that connects the big toe to the foot is often affected first in people who have gout.
  3. Children get arthritis too: Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is the most common amongst children and affects kids between the ages of 1 - 3 or 8 - 12 years. It strikes girls about twice as often as boys. As per a recent survey, 1 in every 250 children globally suffers from arthritis.
  4. Injuries increase the risk of arthritis: Injured joints are prone to develop osteoarthritis (OA). People with knee injuries have six times the chance, while those with hip injuries are three times more likely to develop OA.
  5. Climate cannot cure: People have a misconception that wet, cold climates cause arthritis rather than a warmer climate. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Orthopaedics confirmed the same frequency for both warm and cold climates. However, sore joints find warm atmosphere more soothing.
  6. Obesity increases the risk: Excess weight is one of the primary causes of osteoarthritis, especially for weight-bearing joints like knees, and to less extended hips. But there is also a higher risk to joints like ankles, back, big toes and hands.
  7. Animals can also develop: Not only humans but animals like dogs, cats and others can also develop osteoarthritis. The symptoms are almost the same as the ones faced by a human. It can also lead to a loss of appetite, which can cause weight loss.
  8. Race counts: Both whites and African Americans experience arthritis at similar rates. However, blacks have higher chances of severe joint pain and limitations in activity as compared to whites.
  9. Women are prone to arthritis: Statistics show that women have a significantly higher risk for all types of arthritis except gout. As per the Arthritis Community, Research & Evaluation Unit, women are twofold more prone to arthritis than men.

Hi lybrate-user, If left untreated, migraines can linger for four hours to three days. Stop the suffering sooner by putting yourself in a migraine-soothing environment and trying various natural remedies or medications believed to help treat these throbbing headaches. Stay in the dark room until your migraine goes away, or for as long as possible. Wear sunglasses when necessary. If you have to be out and about and are unable to get to an area with soft light or no light, wear polarizing sunglasses to protect your eyes from the brightest parts of the light spectrum. This may not be quite as effective as spending a few minutes in a dark room, but it will usually still help. If you cannot go to a separate room, wear noise-canceling headphones over your ears to block out external noise. Some individuals find silence stressful or unnerving. If this is the case, run a white noise machine or air purifier in the background to provide soothing ambient sound. You could also try soothing music; however, avoid loud or exciting tunes. Deep breathing exercises can relax the body, thereby releasing any tension that might be contributing to your migraine. Lie on your back with a pillow below your head and a second pillow below your knees. Your legs should be somewhat bent. Place your dominant hand on your upper chest and your other hand below your rib cage. Breathe in slowly through your nose until your stomach pushes against your non-dominant hand. Breathe out slowly through pursed lips as you tighten your stomach. Keep your dominant hand still throughout the entire process. Do this routine for about five minutes. A cold washcloth applied to your achy head can cause the blood vessels there to contract, which slows down the rush of blood to your head. Wet a soft, clean washcloth with cold water and place it over your forehead or on the back of your neck. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Take a 10 to 15 minute break before applying the compress again, and continue in this pattern until your migraine goes away. Note that in some instances, however, cold temperatures can actually make a migraine headache feel worse. If the pain increases within the first 5 minutes of treatment, stop immediately and try something else. Stand under a cold shower with the water running over the top of your head for at least 15 minutes. Give yourself a head massage while you shampoo. This helps to reduce the tensions in your body while releasing the heat from your scalp. Lightly squeeze the excess water from your hair, but keep it damp. Do not dry your hair. Lie down in a cool room while your hair is still damp and try to sleep for a while. You can place a towel over your pillow if you are worried about it being wet. There are often certain foods that can trigger migraines in people; what the triggers are will vary from individual to individual. You can determine any dietary triggers you may have by recording what you ate prior to the onset of a migraine headache, and looking to see if there are any patterns over time. Common dietary triggers of migraine headache include: Foods containing aspartame or MSG Alcohol, Chocolate, Cheese, Salami, Caffeine. Caffeine is a paradox when it comes to migraines. Too much can bring a migraine on, but taking a little caffeine after a migraine comes upon you can actually help the pain to go away. Only take a small dose of caffeine: one soda, one cup of coffee, one cup of tea, or one chocolate bar is sufficient. Avoid energy drinks high in caffeine. Note that this generally only works if your migraine was not originally triggered by caffeine. As long as the pain has not made moving around unbearable for you, light aerobic exercise can get your blood flowing to other areas of your body and cause your migraine to vanish. Aerobic exercise worth trying during a migraine may include brisk walking or jogging, cycling, or swimming. As your heart pumps, your blood circulation will improve and stabilize throughout your body, causing the blood to stop rushing to your head. Additionally, exercise is a good way to relax and get your mind off any stresses that may have triggered the migraine. Keep a migraine diary. When a migraine comes on, make a note of the environmental conditions surrounding it. Write down sensory stimuli (bright lights, loud music, odd odors, etc.), causes of stress, dietary habits, and sleep habits. After a few attacks, review your diary to pinpoint common conditions that usually exist before a migraine comes on. These conditions are your “triggers” and should be avoided to prevent or limit future migraines. Some home remedies you can do: Eat jaggery with ghee. Add a teaspoon of dried tulsi leaf powder and it gets even better. Practice pranayama, especially recommended if you have migraine in which case munching grapes or licking honey to which you add turmeric and salt prove helpful. Garlic is a useful herb and in case of headaches too you can chew a couple of cloves early in the morning or make a paste and apply to your head. Asafetida is a useful elixir for headaches, use asafetida mixed in oil and applied over the forehead as well as consumed internally for relief in headaches. All the best.

It requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Hi Mere bhai ka 12 date ko shaam ko accident ho gya tha so head injury ho gya hai to wo abhi bol nhi paa raha hai to sir wah kitne din baad bol payega.

Homeopath, Kolkata
It will depend on how serious the injury is....usually it takes time to overcome from trauma from 1-7 days in which the patient can express him self. If the trauma/injury is in the speaking center it could get loss and he will not be able to speak... Speak to your Doctor do a MRI brain first before getting into conclusion.
