Yes, suryanamaskar is good for regularizing cholestrol. But with suryanamskar you have to maintain a good diet and habits also drink 2-3 glasses of warm water on your empty stomach Avoid fatty saturated foods such as meats, oil, whole milk, egg yolks, butter, cakes, most biscuits, cream and cheese. Other yoga posture for reducing cholesterol 1.Chakrasana 2.Sarvangasana 3.Shalabhasan 4.Paschimottasan 5.Hastapadasan 6.Bhujangasan.

Hi I am a 33 year old male and have been going through chest pain for the past 2 years. I have undergone all the required tests and consultation with lot of specialists. Let me brief you first with the tests I have undergone. In December 2013 I had done a complete heart check up (ECG, stress test and 2D echo) and all the reports were normal. But since the chest pain was still there in the month of Feb 2014 I also did an MRI scan for cervical and a CT angiography. The report for both these test were also normal and the calcium scores being zero. Then in the month of March 2014 I also underwent an endoscopy where in I was diagnosed with GERD (Gastro Esophagus Reflux Disease. Since then I have been taking medications for acid reflux and having changed my lifestyle in terms of my diet and sleep pattern. I was doing night for the last 10 years and recently also resigned from my job due to this. But there has been no change in the pattern of my pain. Infact it has increased over the period of time. I usually get the pain in the middle of my chest and just above the left breast. It is mild to moderate. I am also a non smoker and non drinker. Kindly advise as to why this is exactly happening since its effecting me mentally as well and impacting my career. I now a days at times also feel shortness of breath and pulse going high. Would highly appreciate your inputs on this.

Since all the relevant investigations are normal, your problem could be due to anxiety and stress. You may need some anxiolytic and anti depressant medicine. Please consult psychiatrist for advice and treatment. Go for regular exercise, practice yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise.

Why Homeopathy is Good to Control Your High Blood Pressure

BHMS, PG Hom London

Why Homeopathy is Good to Control Your High Blood Pressure

Why homeopathy is good to control your high blood pressure

According to statistics put forward by the world health organization, high blood pressure affects about 600 million people all over the world and causes about 5 million premature deaths every year.

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is many times called the silent killer as it doesn't reveal any visible damage. But it does cause significant damage to the heart, brain, eyes and kidneys.

What are the causes of hypertension?

Certain factors cause your arteries to have consistently high levels of blood pressure and based on these factors your hypertension gets classified into the following:

  • Primary hypertension: if the condition doesn't have an identifiable cause, it is known as primary hypertension. This form of high blood pressure develops slowly but surely over many years.

  • Secondary hypertension: this type of hypertension is characterized by identifiable causes that can be corrected with treatment. About 5-10% of cases in the world are secondary in nature. It is usually caused by an underlying problem and tends to appear all of a sudden.

Factors that fall under it are:

  •   kidney problems
  •   sleep apnea
  •   thyroid problems
  •   adrenal gland problems
  •   alcohol abuse

Role of homeopathy in treating high blood pressure

Apart from conventional forms of medicine, homeopathy is also considered to be an effective treatment of high blood pressure. The treatment is tailor-made to your needs as it takes into consideration your external and internal environments. This is because the experiences that you may have and the characteristics of the disease that you display are not the same as the other affected person. It works by viewing your disease as a disturbance that affects your entire body and not just a specific body part.

It not only cures blood pressure but also the reason for high blood pressure so that it does not increase again when your mind or body faces stress.

Fear and anxiety are part of life. You may feel anxious before you take a test or walk down a dark street. This kind of anxiety is useful - it can make you more alert or careful. It usually ends soon after you are out of the situation that caused it.   When you're feeling anxious or stressed, these strategies will help you cope: Jog, walk, bike, or dance three to five times a week for 30 minutes. Set small daily goals and aim for daily consistency rather than perfect workouts. It's better to walk every day for 15-20 minutes than to wait until the weekend for a three-hour fitness marathon. Lots of scientific data suggests that frequency is most important.  Find forms of exercise that are fun or enjoyable. Extroverted people often like classes and group activities. People who are more introverted often prefer solo pursuits. Distract yourself with an iPod or other portable media player to download audiobooks, podcasts, or music. Many people find it’s more fun to exercise while listening to something they enjoy. Recruit an “exercise buddy.” It's often easier to stick to your exercise routine when you have to stay committed to a friend, partner, or colleague. Be patient when you start a new exercise program. Most sedentary people require about four to eight weeks to feel coordinated and sufficiently in shape so that exercise feels easier. For the biggest benefits of exercise, try to include at least 2½ hours of moderate-intensity physical activity (e.g. Brisk walking) each week, 1¼ hours of a vigorous-intensity activity (such as jogging or swimming laps), or a combination of the two.
