Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front.

I am 64 years old man, suffering from left hand bone hand from palm to knee since long nowadays when I hold some item in the left hand I feel pain & cant hold a long time.

Can you please specify clearly whether pain is in hand region or whole limb affecting arm, forearm and hand region? also do you feel any weakness in hand, numbness, paresthesias etc as well do you have issues with your neck also and do you feel any pain radiating from neck downwards to whole upper limb. My dad is suffering from sugar past from 10 years. Always having body pains like backbone pain, leg or foot pain. What diet did he do to able to get from this problem?

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Well diet alone may not sole his problems although recommendation will be for diabetic diet with high calcium containing diet, fresh fruits and vegetables although you can get a diet chart planned for him from a good nutritionist. Also my advice will be to get some blood tests done for him empty stomach like: cbc, esr, crp, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin d levels and send these reports across to me so that I can advise for adequate supplementation as well. Do check with neuro physio or rheumatologist for gout or any other pathological cause for your pain and correct management.

Hi, first thing avoid overstressing your knee joints, take some rest. In your age it's due to anterior knee pain where pain is more during climbing stairs/uphill, getting up from chairs/ low seated position. You basically require knee cap application during working / walking, physiotherapy and medications.
