Hello, I want to ask a health related questions for my friend . Actually he has pain in the bone of his leg. It started within 2-3 days when he started to run on the ground. He consulted a local doctor. The doctor gave him some tablets. Now it is 2 months today. But still he has pain in his bone even he is not running on the ground. Kindly help for this problem. I am a regularly irregular badminton player. During the recent about of the game, I developed a pain in my right knee. The pain isn't there when I am walking of sitting or even running. However, when I squat or sit for long hours and stretch the pain comes in. The pain is sharp and lasting for couple of seconds.

For back pain sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. For other symptoms why not discuss with me in a video conference? You might be having heel spurs (bony outgrowth at the heel) which causes pain while walking or your achilles tendon could be inflamed, after examination only exact cause can be known. Since you are diabetic you need to take extra precautions to keep your foot clean and avoid any complications like diabetic foot or diabetic neuropathy. Immerse your foot in a tub of lukewarm water with epsom salt for 3 min then alternately in a tub of ice cold water. Repeat this 3 times and so some ankle-toe exercises.

Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold). Avoid Squatting- Avoid sitting Cross legged Contrast bath---It is a form of treatment knee is applied warm water followed by the immediate application of the knee with ice water. This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. Note that the treatment should always end in the ice water, as heat will induce the body's inflammatory response, while cold helps to decrease inflammation.

Hello lybrate user, back pain that is associated with day time sedentary jobs like computer professional s are associated with paraspinal muscle spasms. The best way to tackle this sort of pain is to do well spaced stretching exercises of the back, back extension exercises, using hot water bags to provide relief and avoiding stooping posture while sitting. Posture also plays a very important part in back pain, always maintain a straight posture while sitting. While getting up from the bed try to first go on your left or right side of the body and get up side ways. Avoid cruntches or sit-ups: they may increase the pressure on your back and may predispose to slip disc. Always maintain a healthy lifestyle in terms of regular brisk walking, meditation, eating healthy. P. S: try to avoid pain killers (analgesics) as much as possible as many are associated with side effects that you may not be aware of. Stay healthy. Stay happy god bless you.

Hello lybrate-user, From what symptoms you are showing, I think you have strained your back while doing certain exercises in incorrect form at gym. You need to rest your back for few days, so no gym for sometime till the pain settles. Also, I would suggest you to see a Physiotherapist/ Orthopedic Doctor. Till then: 1. Keep icing your back 10 mins/ 3-4 times a day 2. No gym exercises 3. No lifting weights 4. No bending over 5. If you have to travel for long hours in car, take a break every 20 mins and take a small walk 6. Similarly at work place/college, if its lot of sitting, get up every 20 mins and take a small walk For further questions feel free to post THANK YOU Dr.

Ayurveda and Knee Pain

Ayurveda is a very old system of medicine, which originated in India. Using herbs found in nature to cure various illnesses, knee pain can also be permanently cured with this method indigenous to India. It reduces knee pain caused by various illnesses including arthritis, inflammation of the cartilage and wearing of the patella among others.

Here are some common Ayurvedic remedies, which help reduce knee pain:

  1. Alfalfa: Alfalfa is medically known as Medicago Sativa. Alfalfa is excellent for making sure that your joint pain reduces, when taken in liquid form four times a day.
  2. Ashwagandha: Ashwagandha is medically known as Withania Somnifera. In the West, Ashwagandha is popularly known as Winter Cherry. Also, it has a lot of therapeutic properties, which include reducing joint pains. 
  3. Banyan: The Banyan tree's medical name is Ficus Benghalensis. It has a sap very similar to the form of rubber known as latex is derived from the Banyan tree. The Banyan tree's sap is externally applied over the joints and the pain usually disappears after a few regular applications. 
  4. Bishop's weed: The medical name for Bishop's weed is Trachyspermum Ammi. The oil extracted from this herb is usually applied to the knees to reduce the intensity of such knee pains.
  5. Celery: The medical name for celery is Apium Graveolens. Celery is not only an effective treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and associated pains in the knees, but it is also helpful in treating gout. It is usually agreed upon that this particular treatment is usually long lasting because of its alkaline nature.
  6. Dandelion: Dandelion's biological name is Taraxacum Officinale. It is rich in magnesium and is crucial for the correct mineralization of the bones. This mineralization allows the bones to become stronger and also prevents knee pain.
  7. Garlic: The medical name for garlic is allium sativum. Five to six cloves eaten everyday has proved to reduce knee pains.
  8. Ginger: Ginger is biologically called Zingiber Officinale. These can be easily included in your diet and go a long way in curbing knee pain.

Sir. I am having a lot of pain in my legs joints (both knee, left ankle swelling also, right foot's index finger) since 1 month I had some blood tests also my hemoglobin was low (9.8 mg/ dl) and rbc count was 4.47 million ,other tests were fine. Sir I don't know that is this pain caused by low hemoglobin or any other factor? Please help!

Knee pain is a common complaint that affects people of all ages. Knee pain may be the result of an injury or some other medical conditions including arthritis, patellar tendinitis, acl injury, knee bursitis, torn meniscus, gout and infections. Try some home remedies for your pain- - ice is useful for the control of pain and swelling. It can be applied to the knee for 15 to 20 minutes as often as every two to four hours. The swollen knee should be elevated above the level of the heart while icing. -activities that cause pain should be avoided temporarily. -if the knee is swollen or sore, the following positions and activities should be avoided until knee pain and swelling resolve: squatting kneeling twisting and pivoting jogging aerobics, dancing playing sport specific exercises will help you improve range of motion, strength, and endurance. It is especially important to focus on strengthening and stretching your quadriceps since these muscles are the main stabilizers of your kneecap. Core exercises may also be recommended to strengthen the muscles in your abdomen and lower back. Also maintaining a healthy body weight to avoid overstressing your knees are very important. -a full history of your problem should be taken and your movements assessed by a physiotherapist. Please consult a physiotherapist for the same. Usually low back pain is amplified with periods of stress, poor posture, weak abdominals and/or excessive body weight. There are many exercises that should be performed to address the issue of back pain from standing. These exercises try to relieve both the tightness and imbalances in the lumbar spine. Please consult a physiotherapist privately to learn these exercises. Here are a few simple tips to try at home: -heat therapy can provide both pain relief and healing benefits for many types of lower back pain. Try use heat therapy in form of heating pads, heat wraps, hot baths, etc. -keep moving and keep your back mobile. -stretch. Don't sit slumped in your desk chair all day. Get up every 20 minutes or so and stretch the other way. Because most of us spend a lot of time bending forward in our jobs, it's important to stand up and stretch backward throughout the day. -think ergonomically. Design your workspace so you don't have to hunch forward to see your computer monitor or reach way out for your mouse. Use a desk chair that supports your lower back and allows you to keep your feet planted firmly on the floor. -watch your posture. Slumping makes it harder for your back to support your weight. Be especially careful of your posture when lifting heavy objects. Never bend over from the waist. Instead, bend and straighten from the knees. -watch your weight. Use diet and exercise to keep your weight within a healthy range for your height. Being overweight puts excess stress on your spine. Go and see a doctor if -your low back pain is severe, doesn't go away after a few days, or it hurts even when you're at rest or lying down. You have weakness or numbness in your legs, or you have trouble standing or walking. You lose control over your bowels or bladder. These could be signs that you have a nerve problem or another underlying medical condition that needs to be treated.

I am 63 years old Had an attack of compressive Myelopathy in 2012. Started with a back ache. Pain is still there. Right leg was temporarily paralyzed. Can walk but leg feels heavy. Tingling sensation. After an MRI Doctors say I have spine degeneration. Taking Ayurvedic treatment. But the pain is still there. Tingling sensation too. Using Diclofenac ointment. No relief.
