Older people should exercise to build their muscles even into their eighties, according to a review which suggests it will help them with everyday tasks.

Climbing the stairs, housework, walking and even washing was made easier if elderly people worked out 2 or 3 times a week, said Chiung–ju Liu of the Department of Occupational Therapy at Indiana University.

People lose muscle as they age, which can make daily chores more difficult. Working out by using small weights or elastic bands can help to rebuild these muscles.

By "walking well", however, you power yourself around all day using muscles in your bottom, midriff and the backs of your thighs. This brings dramatic, sustainable results.

Hello, Ideally ipill is to be taken within 72 hrs of last unprotected intercourse. Then in next 5-7 days menses or withdrawal bleeding usually arrives. This start of bleeding should be taken as fresh start of your menses as this would now become your fresh LMP date. Your next menses should be expected only after a month from this date of initiation of withdrawal bleeding. The most common side effect of ipill is heavy menses and often delayed next 1-2 cycles.

Hello, This may be an ovulation bleed which is common during midcccl. If you intend pregnancy then continue intercourse for next 10 days to increase your chances of pregnancy.

I have been taking thyronorm 100 mg for the last 2 years, last year by the middle of june I felt severe vertigo due to below normal TSH and I stopped taking the same for sometime. The vertigo lasted for upto 2 months and later my doctor advised me to continue taking the same and I did as advised. Later this year by the month of May I felt heavy headedness and the TSH test result showed normal 3.95 but my doctor still advised me to continue the same but I changed to thyronorm 75 mg and lately by last thursday I felt severe vertigo. So I Have stopped taking the medicine. Now I feel same heavy headedness. Is it due to the fall in TSH level. I am only 32 years old. Now what can I do to get rid of this vertigo?

Mr Dixon, Vertigo and dizziness are two symptoms seen occasionally in Hypothyroidism. Vertigo is not because of low TSH as you have mentioned. Taking thyroxine and maintaining TSH level between 3 to 4 milli units/L, very essential in controlling hypothyroidism as well as all the symptoms related to it. Headache or feeling heavy head are also part of symptoms of hypothyroidism. So it is essential for continuing the treatment. In addition it is essential to avoid foods like soy beans, soy containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, peanuts, mustard and coffee. Plus avoiding gluten containing grains like wheat, ragi ia also found to be helpful. Thanks,

2. Rinse thoroughly after every meal
3. Clean your tongue also as you clean your teeth
4. Try flossing

Babies develop their own feeding and sleeping pattern your concern should be to make sure that the child is properly fed and is not hungry after his feed sometimes if milk is not sufficient then babies do get up again and again for feed do you do your part and wait he will develop his own pattern.

Hello, nothing ll go wrong take care of following a) sun: if your out take care of skin by covering as much as you can, b) hydration: intake of more liquids n plain water will help you better. C) continuously if you wear helmet for hours you may have headache n hairfall to due to excessive sweat, so wear a cotton scarf n wear helmet over it, d) n pollution is main thing wic you should wry abt so better wear mask. Pros n cons are there in all. You even have advantages like you get good vit d, immunity ll ofcourse will increase slowly slowly.

Most of the road side eatteries and normal restaurants in India use Trans fats in their foods.Eating foods rich in trans fats increases the amount of harmful LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream and reduces the amount of beneficial HDL cholesterol. Trans fats create inflammation thus causing secretion of excessive sebum from skin pores making our skin oily and more prone to bacterias and other harmful organisms thus causing pimples.Not everybody suffer from same condition but majority does.and you are one of them.So if your pimples problem is getting normal by avoiding them then you sholud not eat such things but eat a nutritious home made diet which will help your skin glow along with consuming large quantity of water.

Hello, weight gain is the result of well balanced diet, physical activity for 30-40 mins 3-4 days/week preferably weight training and rest of 8-10 hours. All foods included in your diet should be power packed i. E giving you many nutrients and calories, also it should be high on proteins like chicken (skinless, egg whites, fish, milk, beans and sprouts so as to help you in gaining muscle mass for better health and immunity. Examples-banana/mango/chickoo milkshakes with honey and nuts, paneer stuffed sandwiches/parathas, chikkis of peanuts/chana to be stocked with you as this can be conveniently had anywhere, dryfruits and mixed nuts. Overeating would harm more than help as it would lead to burning excess calories to use the food eaten leading to wastage of energy and in the bargain you might lose weight. Beer is not the right way to gain weight as it has other side effects on the body.

IN HYPOTHYROIDISM:--- Deficiency of thyroxine hormone leading to sluggishness, tired feeling, weight increase, slow heart beats, intolerance to cold, swelling of legs, feet and face, difficulty in concentrating and at times in speech. Treatment for hypothyroidism is giving ' THYROXINE ' tablets. And dose are according to level of thyroid for life time. Avoid iron medicines. Avoid bad habits . Avoid stress. Following medicines of ayurveda classics are used for cervical spodylosis and backache:

Ekangavira rasa, pravala pisti, brihat vata chintamani ras, svarna-maksika bhasma, trayodasanga guggulu, chandra-prabha vati, pidantaka rasa. The vehicle (anupana) is honey. As given in my tips earlier, harsingar/ parijat (night jasmine) leaves decoction used with these will miraculously relieve and cure the patient barring acute prolapse conditions for which surgery is indicated. But surgery of spine should be got done in extreme necessity only by experts.

As everybody knows that such diseases are technically pain management techniques but medicinally, in allopathy, only some pain killers are given to get instant relief. Alternatively, above ayurveda medicines balance the vata vitiation. When used with other pain management support techniques, patient comes out of chaos very soon.

I have a 2.5"thyroid. For last one year I am getting excessively heavy periods with clots and too much pain. In one report two months ago, chronic cervicitis was revealed. I also got urine infection frequently especially post condition.In urine test calcium oxalate was found in little amount. But when I got clinically checked in safdarjung, doctor said my cervix is healthy. I have been advised hysteroscopy and DNC to get rid of this problem. But I don't want hysteroscopy.
