Hi, Sir, My wife is suffered OCD (washing hands continuously for hours) and treated by Dr. Ashok K Alimchandini in Hyderabad. After that we had a baby girl I am seeing another problem for small issues she is talking for hours 4 to 5 hours. If am not there in the house she won't talk. If I am in the house only she is shouting continuously. I am asking her to come to visit a doctor. She is not willing. Her Parents are also not supporting me. How can I take my wife to the hospital her? Please suggest me.

M.D in Psychiatry
Psychiatrist,
I understood your problem. One thing I suggest is you meet a psychiatrist and tell your wife that you have become depressed, and doctor wants to speak to her about you. This is one day of taking her to hospital. Otherwise consult the doctor and if he is willing to give her medications which you can give her if she consents if not then with out her knowledge or under the pretext of some tonic for her back ache or weakness. Once she is slightly better may agree to take medicines.

lybrate-user, after going through your narrative, I feel that you are having Generalized anxiety disorder. This can be managed with yoga and pranayam, to a significant extent. If you consult or being referred to clinical psychologists, they will teach you relaxation training and cognitive behaviour therapy or mindfulness therapy. If your anxiety is still considerable, then you may be prescribed few drugs. I can understand how much it is affecting your academic performance and your self esteem. It can be definitely managed with yoga or by relaxation training etc. Please consult a psychiatrist. I wish you overcome your distress and do well in life.
