Hello there! My father is having severe lower back pain since Tuesday morning. He's unable to move at all. All he can do is go washroom that too with mom's help. This happened few months back too. He used Homeopathy meds and got better. He's using the meds since yesterday and there's no improvement. What can be done to give him relief? Any food to give enough nourishment to the bones? Is there any permanent cure to this lower back pain? Please help out.

Severe lower back pain and restricted mobile can be because of muscles spasm. Apply lukewarm sesame oil on lower back and take hot water bag thrice a day. He should take complete bed rest for 4 to 5 days. He should restrict forward bending and carrying heavy weights. He can eat calcium and protein rich food for example egg whites ; Moong in any form; guava; nachani; milk etc. He should food items which are heavy to digest. If no relief in 1 or 2 days then consult your doctor for X ray. Ayurvedic medicines ; basti ; Katibasti will reduce the pain and prevent recurrence.

Get an xray done to rule out any spurr in the heel. Otherwise problem could be because of nerve impingement.

I am told that one should not sit in cross-legged position as it may cause pain in the knee joints. However, in India most people sit in cross legged for prayer, puja and the like, and for prolonged periods ranging from half an hour to even 2-3 hours. In Yoga, this popular posture is called Padmasana and is commended for physical fitness. Ortho, Ayurveda, Homeo, Siddha, Tibetan and Unani experts may however enlighten properly.

Yes! There is lot of stress on knee joint when you sit cross leg. If you have knee pain and you want to prevent your self from further damage follow instructions, take chair and pray. Keep doing yoga but upper body ,breathing and ask your physio for special Exs designed for knee. Best of luck.

1.Take paracetamol 500mg, one tablet sos upto a maximum of three tablets daily after food 2.cold spoonging Sos 3.Drink plenty of water 4.Take rest 4.If no relief do blood examination like ESR, CBC, Widal/ Typhidot test, Blood for mp/malaria antigen and Dengue antigen(NS1) test after consulting doctor 5. consult me for further advice

I am 55 years old. Now I find climbing up the stairs and climbing down the problem I get stuck up sometimes and get nervous too on the roads etc. What shall I do? shall I come and visit you? tell you my problems.

This could be due to oa knee &/or obesity. X rays of both knee joints (digital) physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days caldikid plus (mankind) 1 tab odx10days you will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Don't ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

लक्षण
इसके लक्षणों में झुनझुनी, दर्द, गुदगुदी या उंगलियों, हाथों और/या कलाई में “मजाकिया एहसास” आदि हैं। अन्य निश्चित विशिष्ट लक्षणों में हैं:

  • हाथ के तल और उंगलियों में जलन, झुनझुनी या खुजलीयुक्त गुदगुदी, खासकर अंगूठे, तर्जनी और मध्यमा उंगली में।
  • थोड़ी या बिना दिखाई देने वाली सूजन के साथ उंगलियों का निष्क्रिय और फूला हुआ प्रतीत होना।
  • पकड़ की क्षमता में कमी और छोटी वस्तुओं को पकड़ पाने में असमर्थता।
  • स्पर्श करने पर गर्म और ठन्डे के बीच अंतर कर पाने में असमर्थता।
  • पिन और सुइयाँ।
  • कलाई और हाथ में दर्द।
  • त्वचा की शुष्कता।
  • कमजोर

कारण
इसकी उत्पत्ति के कारणों में कलाई को लगने वाली चोट या आघात जो सूजन, जैसे मोच या फ्रैक्चर उत्पन्न करते हैं; पीयूष ग्रंथि की अतिसक्रियता; थाइरोइड ग्रंथि का कम सक्रिय होना; रह्युमेटोइड आर्थराइटिस; कलाई के जोड़ में यांत्रिक समस्या; कार्य का तनाव; हाथ से कम्पन करने वाले औजारों का बार-बार प्रयोग; गर्भावस्था या रजोनिवृत्ति के दौरान तरल पदार्थ का बना रह जाना; या सुरंगनुमा मार्ग में थैलीनुमा रचना या गांठ का उत्पन्न हो जाना आते हैं। कुछ मामलों में कोई भी कारण पहचाना नहीं जा सकता।

रोकथाम (बचाव):

  • रोग का शीघ्र निर्धारण और चिकित्सा।
  • भारी वस्तुएँ ना उठाएँ।
  • कार्य के दौरान विराम लें।
  • जीवन शैली में सुधार।
  • अपनी कलाइयों को बार-बार फैलाना और समेटना ना करें।
  • ध्यान देने की बातें
  • अनजाने एहसास और दर्द का भुजा से होकर कंधे की तरफ जाना।
  • शुष्क त्वचा, सूजन या हाथ की त्वचा के रंग में बदलाव।

डॉक्टर को कब दिखाएँ:

  • अपने डॉक्टर से संपर्क कब करें
  • यदि आपको सीटीएस के लक्षण लगातार बने हुए हैं जो आपकी दैनिक गतिविधियों में बाधा डाल रहे हैं, जैसे:
  • झुनझुनी और गुदगुदी का एहसास।
  • पिन और सुइयाँ चुभना।
  • कलाई और हाथ में दर्द।
  • त्वचा का शुष्क होना
  • कमजोरी

This is shoulder problem. Most probably rotator cuff related. All problems don't need medicines. You may need exercises but after confirming the diagnosis.

I have done every report including mri every report is normal but pain is still there everymonth I suffer 20-25 days I can' t sleep or bend forward. First of all I have to know the nature of your job. If it is related to weight bearing or travelling. U r supposed to reduce d working style and take rest while working. You can apply a good ayurvedic oils (eg: arlin oil r chan oil) in d pain areas gently and after 15 mins. of time supposed to take hot water fermentation using cotton towel. Do this twice a day. And some streching exercises. Continue this for next 5 days continuously. U will feel better. All d best.
