Please get yourself evaluated thoroughly by medical expert to rule out any medical problem. In case that is ruled out, then this is a case of Anxiety which leads to Panic attack and shows in form of breathlessness. Anxiety issues can be helped effectively by getting Jacobson Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy from a psychologist. It can be taught by them ad you can practice at home. It is a therapy where each and every muscle of body is relaxed and with continuous practice, this helps in easing the anxiety. Other method is hypnotherapy to help find the root cause of anxiety as there are many reasons for anxiety to be present. Hypnotherapy is a well known tool for helping in anxiety.

Hello sir am umendhar am suffering from anxiety. Panic. phobia. disorder since 18 months. Please help me doctors.
A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear that triggers severe physical reactions when there is no real danger or apparent cause. Panic attacks can be very frightening. When panic attacks occur, you might think you're losing control, having a heart attack or even dying. Many people have just one or two panic attacks in their lifetimes, and the problem goes away, perhaps when a stressful situation ends. But if you've had recurrent, unexpected panic attacks and spent long periods in constant fear of another attack, you may have a condition called panic disorder. Panic attack can come in agoraphobia, when there is fear of places where there is no exit, in crowds, locked places, travelling far from home….etc. Although panic attacks themselves aren't life-threatening, they can be frightening and significantly affect your quality of life. But treatment can be very effective. Consult a Psychiatrist and get remedy. All the best for you.

My symptoms are matching with neurons damage. I am having memory, concentration and focus problems. I am 19. Am I really having my neurons destroying? Also I am addicted to excessive masturbation. Whom should I consult? Are there any home remedies to cure them rapidly?

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Mumbai
Having memory/concentration/ focus problems is not necessarily due to neuronal damage; they may occur due to multiple causes. Unless you are abusing substances, having exposure to toxins, or having any neurodegenerative disease, it is less likely that you have neuronal damage at the age of 18. Try some meditation, relaxation techniques or yoga to improve your concentration and reduce your anxiety. Masturbation is natural. However when it begins to take over your entire life and occupies all your time, or prevents you from creating/ maintaining meaningful relationships, it is a significant problem. If the problem is overwhelming, consult a psychiatrist.

1 What diseases are due to alcohol consumption? 2 What are the effects of alcohol on the unborn child/fetus? 3 What are the health benefits of alcohol consumption? 4 How are depression and alcohol consumption linked? 5 In what ways can alcohol consumption lead to physical injuries? 6 What is the overall health burden of alcohol consumption?

Gastritis, liver diseases and even cancer can occur from alcohol. Newborn baby is affected by growth retardation and in small amounts it releases tension but addiction is big issue. After alcohol the impairment of judgement can casue fall and other injuries.

I just don't enjoy the things I used to, and I don't feel much like visiting friends or family. Is this part of aging?

Hi I will prescribe some harmless but effective flower remedy available in homoeopathy shops. Try to buy original medicines. Mix 3 drops of mustard + 3 drops of gentian + 3 drops of white chestnut + 3 drops of scleranthus. Mix these with 100 ml water and drink it every morning and night.(same dose. On empty stomach.

Need suggestion on family related issue. I am 35 year old working women. Five year back, I got married. It was love marriage with acceptance of both families. Now, I have two kids. We have joint family. My husband is having a brother and a sister and he is the eldest among them. All of them are married and have kids. My husband's sister, her husband and of course their kids used to live with us at our home with his husband and kids. They have allotted a government quarter in the same city.  Earlier, sometimes they used to go to their quarter, but for more than one and half year she has not moved towards her quarter for a single day. After my marriage, initially up to about 2 years I was quite happy to live with them, but the problem arises when she always used to control the each and every house hold things, decision etc. Even she always used to give her advice to me also. Though I am elder than her, I am working, more educated than her, more updated with the technologies. Actually I don't need anyone's free advice, if I need I'll ask to them without any hesitation.   Now, the situation is that almost all the decision (related to house) is by her. Even our cook used to ask her that what and how much is going to be prepared for lunch or dinner. She is everywhere. In our any small celebration, picnic, outings, shopping everything. She is very dominating also. She influence my mother-in-law. Because of her existence my mother-in-law and I have built-up a good relation.  She is main reason of dispute between me and my husband. My in-laws and my husband support her to do everything.  Now, I cannot tolerate her at all. Still after five years of marriage I have found my place in the home. I don't feel that it is my home. At this home, I am happy and can manage with everything, except the presence of them. Sometimes, I feel that I should leave the house with my kids and stay at any rented house.  Still we don't have a single argument yet, and it is just because I never say anything to her and my mother-in-law. My husband all the situation and always appreciate me for being quite. Sometimes he also feel that their presence put many nuisance at our home, but overall he is happy with them, after all she is his sister. I just fed up with all those things, and always be in stress. Please give me good suggestion to solve the problem by not hurting anybody.

Discuss these sufferings with your husband when he and you are in a good mood privately, and slowly move out of the house. That seems the only solution.

I have smoking habit from 3 years I'm just 21 years old I had addicted to it So please suggest me a medicine which it give up smoking.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician, Alappuzha
Best age to stop smoking is before 40 ,In fact do not start all Only by using strong will power and avoiding all situations where you feel like smoking, chewing tobacco or drinking or using drugs/ weed, avoiding friends who smoke and diverting mind by reading or chewing a gum, like NICORETTE and taking a walk when you crave for a smoke can all help. You can chew Nicorette gum which is nicotine replacement. There are medicines available. Which can be prescribed if asked personally Cigarette smoking is a leading preventable cause of mortality. It kills more than 60 lakh people worldwide every year. More than 50% of regular smokers would invariably die from tobacco-related illnesses which includes heart attack, cancer or asthmatic lung diseases. Best age to stop smoking is before 40.
