Forgetfulness is a normal part of aging as there occurs a lot of changes in the body, including the brain. Some people notice that they take longer time to learn new things or cannot recall informations as efficiently as they used to do earlier. These are signs of forgetfulness. Other causes of forgetfulness include side effects from medications, trauma, vitamin deficiencies, cancer or infection in brain and other disorders. Stress, multi tasking, inadequate sleep and depression also interfere with short term memory loss in younger people. Symptoms associated with forgetfulness are changes in personality or behavior, difficulty in speaking, breathing and sleeping and even vision changes.
HOW IS FORGETFULNESS DIAGNOSED?
Forgetfulness may be triggered by neurological conditions including Alzheimer's disease and Huntington's disease.
