It is ok to take the medications. But I would recommend you to opt for natural food stuffs like legumes like chickpeas, lentils ,beans seeds like sesame nuts like almond cashew which are high in zinc content. As zinc is a trace element we need it only in small quantities. Also the most important thing in covid is eat healthy stay healthy. Drink lots of water. And most importantly sanitize, wear masks and keep social distancing.

HB can be improved without supplements. She should eat green leafy veggies and red veggies like tomatoes, carrot etc. These veggies can be given as soup also. Instead of spending on medicines, let them these veggies.

Start eating small frequent energy dense meals instead of 3 large meal like stuffed paranthas with curd\ whole eggs\spoon full of desi ghee in dal or with roti, paneer, nuts, sprouts, pulses, chicken etc
have shakes of fruits with added nuts
drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water.
Eat all seasonal fruits and vegetables.
Manage stress
quit smoking or drinking if any
do some moderate intensity exercises for 30 minutes daily.
