Yoga is a science, which shifts one from sympathetic to parasympathetic mode. It is a combination of hatha yoga (asanas or postures), breathing and meditation. Yes you can do yoga on daily basis. U should change your eating habits like
1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning 2. Don't overeat 3. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U should eat whatever your mother or grandparent eat in bfast. I mean to say whatever is your traditional food. Yoga definately helps you to reduce your weight, try surya namaskara every day.
Take plenty amount of water.
Since you are female, are you suffering from any irregular periods or heavy or scanty flow during your periods. If so the weight gain may be due to hormonal imbalance. Consult the doctor.

1-2 glasses of water can be taken 30 minutes before yoga. And a few sips can also be taken while doing yoga if you feel thirsty. The pain in your legs can be due to a lot of reasons.
