Hello. Ovarian cyst and PCOS both can affect your mensus. But they can be differentiated by USG easily. PCOS is seen as multiple small follicles (more than 12) of 2-9 mm size where as cyst will be single. Moreover PCOS is associated with hormonal disturbances and LH: FSH ratio is >2. Ovarian cyst if simple <3 cm or haemorrhagic resolves on it's own. PCOS generally requires treatment.
