Low blood pressure is a condition wherein the blood pressure falls below 90/60. A person suffering from this condition may experience symptoms such as fainting, dizziness, and shock. The condition of low blood pressure may develop due to several reasons. Usually the doctors prescribe some medication to deal with the problem of low blood pressure. This problem of low blood pressure can be treated naturally through old-age yoga therapy.

There are several factors which contribute to the development of the low blood pressure problem and yoga provides relief in this condition by treating those factors. There are various asanas in yoga that help a person in treating the condition of low blood pressure. Yoga provides relief by calming the brain of a person thereby relieving the body from all the stress and fatigue. Doing yoga improves the circulation of blood which results in the ease in the tension. Since yoga improves blood circulation to the brain thus it alleviates the condition of dizziness and fainting from occurring and the blood pressure also reaches the normal level. Boat Pose

It is an easy posture to maintain and follow. You need to sit straight, with your legs stretched out in front of you. Now slowly move your legs up toward your stomach and remove the hands from the ground. If done correctly, you will be putting your entire body weight on the bums and tailbone. Hold this position for a few seconds and make sure that your eyes are focused straight ahead, in line with your toes.

Now grab the heels with your hands and bring up your upper torso, in such a manner that only your stomach stays in contact with the ground. Hold the pose for a few seconds and slowly return to the original pose.

Conclusion

In case of low blood pressure doing just yoga may not be sufficient. Yoga needs to be supported with a proper nutritional and healthy diet. A person may be happy to know that are some food products which are both healthy and help in improving the blood pressure level. Deficiency of Vitamin B12 can lead to anemia which results in low blood pressure. Foods rich in vitamin b12 like eggs, beef and fortified cereals must be incorporated in the diet. Drinking more fluid also helps in improving the blood pressure level as dehydration causes the pressure to drop considerably. Consuming food rich in folates like garbanzo beans and asparagus also helps in improving the blood pressure level.

Improving the quantity of salt by only a few notches in the food also raises the blood pressure level. Besides these dietary changes, the medicine prescribed by the doctor for improving low blood pressure must be taken regularly. If a person is suffering from this condition and wants a fast-paced recovery from this condition then he/she must compliment yoga with healthy diet and medicine.
