There are postures in yoga which assist in removing the toxins from the body along with eliminating the problem of stress. Since stress is one of the major causes of heart blockage the breathing techniques in yoga play a significant role in relaxing the mind. There are poses in yoga that which in improving the blood circulation in the heart region. The supply of freshly oxygenated blood through yoga stimulates the functionality of the heart. Big Toe Pose

This pose aids in digestion and stimulates the liver and kidneys thus reducing excess lipids and cholesterol in the body. Start the pose by standing in a relaxed position. Breathe regularly and bend your body forward from the hips and touch your feet. Grab your respective toes tightly and try to touch your forehead to your thighs. Hold the pose for 10-20 seconds.

Shoulder Stand

The shoulder stand pose is extremely beneficial for fat metabolism, reducing high blood pressure and preventing heart problems. Start the pose by lying on your back with hands by your side. Press your arms into the floor and slowly lift your legs and thighs off the floor. Bend your elbows and place your hands on your lower back to support yourself and raise your hips off the ground. Spread your palms fully across the lower back and continue to raise your legs till your spine is almost perpendicular to the floor. Keep your legs straight and pointed towards the ceiling and breathe rhythmically. Hold for 15-20 seconds.

Forward Bend Pose

The forward bend pose tones the abdominal muscles, aides in digestion and also helps control insulin resistance for diabetic patients. This in turn contributes towards a healthy heart and less chances of heart blockage. Start the pose sitting on the floor with your legs stretched out in front of you. As you exhale, bend your body forwards and try touching your forehead to your thighs but don't strain your hamstrings. Stretch your hands forward and grasp your ankles or toes and hold the pose for 30 seconds.

Bridge Pose

The bridge pose is great for reducing blood pressure because in this pose the level of the heart is above the head which aids in blood circulation. It stretches the back muscles and spine and helps bring blood pressure down. Start the pose by lying on your back with your knees bent and hands by your side. Slowly press your feet on the ground and raise your hips off the floor while keeping your hands by your side for support. As you raise your lower body up, clasp your hands and press into the ground and lift your pelvis towards the ceiling. Keep your elbows straight and your thighs parallel to the ground. Hold the pose for 30 seconds.

Incorporating asparagus in the diet can be very good as it is one of the best foods that assist in cleaning the arteries. It is rich in minerals and fiber which prevents the formation of blood clots. It stimulates the glutathione production in the body which is an antioxidant that prevents oxidation damage which can lead to blockage. Incorporating avocado in the diet helps in reducing the level of bad cholesterol and improves good cholesterol thereby assisting in clearing the blockage.

Addition of broccoli to the diet is very good as it is rich in vitamin K that protects the arteries from calcium damage. Including watermelon can be great for clearing the blockages as it boasts of amino acid L-citrulline that is responsible for improving the production of nitric oxide in the body. The nitric oxide helps in relaxing the arteries and reducing their inflammation. Adding whole grains to the diet helps in dilating the blood vessels due to the presence of magnesium.
