Benefits of yoga for hair growth

In today's era, one of the biggest concerns for an individual after his/her weight is their hair fall. Due to various changes in the environment and unhealthy lifestyle, the problem of hair loss has become very common. People are looking for new ways of growing their hair back. In the market, there are several treatments available that can boost the growth of hair but all of them have some side effects associated with them be it medicines or hair transplant. If anyone is looking to regrow their hair naturally then he/she must opt for yoga as it is a natural and free of side effects and solution to the problem.

Yoga provides assistance in the hair growth by increasing the supply of oxygen and blood to the scalp which in turn enhances the functionality of the scalp and rejuvenating the hair follicles. Stress which is one of the major causes of hair fall also gets reduced through yoga. The thyroid gland which plays an important role in hair growth also gets regulated through yoga. Adho Mukha Svanasana Or Downward Facing Dog

It is an effective pose in that it releases stress, a leading cause behind hair fall. It also encourages sound circulation of blood. Lie down flat on the floor on your abdomen. Your feet should touch each other and your hands should be placed, palms down, aligned to the shoulder. Now, you have to come up with your upper body. As you lift your chest up, tuck your toes and lift the knees off the mat. Support your body with your hands and your feet and your head should be pointed downwards.

Uttanasana Or Forward Pose

Stand straight and your legs should be pressed together. Breathe in, push your pelvis inside and bend forward slowly. Bend your knees for your comfort and hang your head. You can either press your hands against the floor, or hold your shin. To get the best result fold your hands and try to use your legs to maintain balance. This is a yoga routine that allows the oxygen to reach your brain, thereby encouraging hair growth.

Sarvangasana Or Shoulder Stand

Lie flat on your back and lift your legs up. Use your hands to support your hips and straighten your legs as much as possible. The weight of your entire body should rest on your shoulders and neck. Hold the position for a while and while bringing down your legs curl your knees and gradually go back to the initial position.

Sasangasana

Sit on your knees and lift your torso up. Then bend down so that your head rest on the floor. Stretch your hands behind you and hold your ankles. Breathe in and out and hold the pose for at least 5 minutes. This yoga encourages the oxygen to reach the brain and rejuvenates hair follicles.

Apart from yoga consuming a balanced diet comprising of right nutrients help in promoting hair growth as one of the reasons for hair loss can be poor nutrition. Eating an adequate amount of protein is essential for the growth of the hair. Thus eating eggs can boost hair growth as it comprises of both protein and biotin that are important nutrients for hair growth. Incorporating berries in the diet can benefit as it comprises of vitamins and antioxidants which help in hair growth.

Addition of healthy green vegetables like spinach can be very good as they are a rich source of vitamin a, vitamin c, iron, and folate. All of these nutrients promote hair growth. Omega-3 fatty acids are very good for the growth of the hair. Therefore adding fish like mackerel can be beneficial both for the health and hair. Avocados taste delicious and are a great source of healthy fats. Besides these, it is also a rich source of vitamin E which helps in the growth of the hair follicles. Incorporating oysters in the diet can be both healthy for the body and hair growth as it is a rich source of zinc mineral. Positive effects with respect to hair growth are observed when yoga is combined with a healthy diet.
