Smoking for long may affect the upper respiratory tract & lungs, causing many problems like throat irritation & infection, chronic cough, COPD, Chronic bronchitis etc. As you are having chest pain better get yourself evaluated by a physician to rule out any affect in your chest & lungs by smoking.

Psychiatric disorders like bipolar disorder or schizophrenia do not appear all of a sudden. There are small changes that happen to an individual over a long period of time until the disease fully develops. These signs and symptoms might be too subtle in the early stage for other people to notice until they become obvious. But an early detection of any irregularity proves to be more beneficial for the patient in the long run.

If someone isn't addicted to alcohol or drugs. Still he will have withdrawal symptoms after quitting ? I'm drinking alcohol from last 7 years (I'm 26 now), but more from last one and half year, average of drinking from last year will be approximately 2 beer a week. N I've smoked Marijuana in 7 years not more than 20-25 times. From last year, only around 10 times. I've not tried or taken any other drugs . Ever. I'm not addicted to both. I don't care if I don't drink or smoke. But last month-on may 2016, I smoked Marijuana for 3 times in 10 days (on 2 may and 6 may and 13 may 2016) and started having withdrawal symptoms from 15 may 2016 till today (it's 39th day). I didn't had alcohol or Marijuana or coffee after that. Not any cravings to have. My symptoms were so worst for 20-25 days. But From last 10 days, all symptoms comeback once in day. But my mind don't stop thinking. It's like a machine which isn't stopping of random thoughts. What causing brain to work continuously. Will it will stop or not? I'm afraid of this thing. Please help. I talked with my homeopathy doc. He said Marijuana or any drug affects by breaking the link (barrier or bridge) between conscious and subconscious mind. He said It'll take time to built that link. Is he correct? I don't wanna get caught in pills. My question is that after quitting still I'll have withdrawal symptoms for both? What are those? How long it'll take? And what are long term effects ? How to compensate with those? How to get rid of symptoms? please don't suggest me to consult any specialist. I don't wanna get caught in pills. I wanna detoxify naturally.

Drugs, be it alcohol or marijuana, in the long run are precipitating factors of all sorts of psychiatric disorders. Alcohol withdrawal doesnot run more than a week and marijuana causes only psychological withdrawal never physical.
So as in your case, it seems to be an underlying independent anxiety or depressive disorder that has developed. If you wish to refrain from medicines, you may try relaxation methods like deep breathing exercises, yoga and meditation.

Sir/madam I am 28 years old female, for all small things I used to get tensed alot. For years small small symptoms were shown by my body tat something is wrong due to my tension. But in oct 2015 I got so tensed for one family problem. And felt like a lump feeling in my throat and felt lik I can not breath, so went to pulmonologist, he gave me medicines thinking its wheezing. So after 2 days of taking medicines, 1 night at 12 (immediately after menstruation started) my brain and heart both showed worst symptoms and I thought I had heart attack or something and said to my parents that something is gonna happen to me. Thy convinced tat nothing wrong and made me sleep, after getting up in the morning I had d same symptoms, I immediately rushed to cardiologist and took ecg, he said am perfectly alright and said that I suffered from severe anxiety and asked me to drink some cool milk, after many months lump feeling gone, but after tat started to get severe dizziness. And again went to cardiologist, he asked me to consult psychiatrist, so I went to psychiatrist thinking tat since no problem with my heart, I have brain tumor or something. She saw me and said nothing wrong with my body, but I was unable to believe it, she said I have severe anxiety and depression. And prescribed nexito plus and lonazep for one month. I took it and felt good, but immediately after a month I had bad brain zaps (electric jolt lik feeling), so again went to her. Now (dec 2015) she prescribed duleza 20 and d-venizz 50, but I did not take those medicines seeing bad reviews about withdrawal symptoms in net. So without taking those 2 medicines Controlled brain zaps, and I was ok (with minimal symptoms) for few months, but in april 2016 I had earlier symptoms and it was too worst. So again went to the doctor, but while going me and my dad had bike accident and got hurt very badly. So I could not go to the doctor. And returned home. Now (may 2016) I am having all the symptoms (feel like going mad, like about to fall, can not stand at all, so many strange feelings in brain, heart pounding, lik about to get fits, hands legs twitching, right eye swelling after every sleep, and while trying to sleep, feel lik earth is pulling me down->> al these symptoms gets worse after each menstruation) but if isay to my parents about it, no one listening and they are shouting tat am ok and wantedly saying all these. But thy can not understand wat bad is going on inside my body. And my weight is reduced (50 to 48). I am really confused bcos right now I am unable to go to psychiatrist and I want to know can I take those 2 medicines (which I did not take it earlier when doctor prescribed) now-> (duzela 20 and d-veniz 50). Pls help me, daily its like hell. I can not bear at all.!

Hello lybrate-user,
sorry to learn about your problems.
It must eb difficult to live with such traumatic experinces, everyday. I would strongly suggest you go to your psychiatrist and explain yoir problems and also ask for a modification in ongoing treatment.
If you are not satisfied with your current doctor then see a good neurologist, soon.
Don't wait for things to get worse. Please see your doctor.

I'm a 28 years old girl, unmarried. I'm addicted to smoking. I started it very casually 2 yrs. First with 1 cigarette, then 2, then 5 and gradually the number of cigarette kept increasing. Now I smoke 20 cigarettes per day. I don't have any emotional issues nor do I have now. Just The fun part became an addiction. Now I want to quit desperately. I tried many times but every time it resulted in failure. The withdrawal symptoms are too much to ask for. When I don't smoke for 6-7 hrs I feel anger and rage in me and after that a period of depression which lasts. I read many articles on Internet about quitting. I tried every non medical trick but I couldn't deal with the withdrawal symptoms with enough motivation. If I can get some help or any good medicine which will help me quit it will be helpful.

Dear friend, congrats you have a strong willpower, but some time you loose your confidence. I assure you that nothing will go wrong when you quit smoking.
This is a false belief that withdrawal of smoking causes any damage.
But what happens when you quit, a low confidence again provokes to restart.
Here what should be done, just take few deep breaths and a glass of cold water and lemon juice and sip this slowly.
Spend 10, _15 min.
Try to engage your mind in any work, play wit...more
