Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Cigarette contains more than 4000 chemicals which can cause many physical and mental problems. Nicotine is addictive and causes addiction. Smoking can cause cancer and other physical problems. The best method to quit smoking is to use your will power and sustain it with your will power. There are other methods like deaddiction therapy. Hello,Smoking is injurious to health. Smoking can have serious effects on your life. There are no health benefits of smoking. Smoking causes lung and oral cancer as well as interstitial lung disease. It affects peripheral blood vessels adversely and can cause respiratory and circulatory issues. It is advisable to quit immediately. Consult a psychiatrist with experience in deaddiction.

You have to quit cold turkey because the body and mind will torture you endlessly while attempting reduction in smoking. The tobacco tar in cigarette smoke lines your lung with huge patches that make that portion dysfunctional. Your oxygen carrying capacity is jeopardized, and breathing is impinged. When you stop suddenly, you may get withdrawal symptoms like restlessness, irritability, lack of concentration, increased hunger, sleep disturbance, headache, impatience, anxiety, depression, etc. If you have them please don’t get back to smoking, take nicotine gum or lozenge or patch.
